21st Century Paul:
New u2 single. The Edge uses more distortion than me.
then seems like Freddie Mercury singing with Queen harmonies and then seems like a Macca rockeror the same... Bono seems sometimes Dylan at Subterranean Homesick Blues
I'm not sure about U2 anymore
ops: first I really liked them but now................................it is all the same
ops: Bono.................I think his ego is too big for him to handle
: everything must be political correct, his songs his talk...................but were is the fun of just making music

I stumbled upon these vids last night! There's someone making a "documentary-style" overview of Paul Simon's music, starting from 1953 and onwards. It reminds me a lot of The Beatles' Anthology series. There are three parts up already, but I think there's more to follow. It's a very nice watch. The person also uses a LOT of interviews he or she collected on VHS over the years and I haven't seen most of them before. There's a bit of Artie in there too. And I love how Paul is driving around their old neighbourhoods, pointing out Art's house and their high school and all.
Part 2 : Part 3 : And check out this too. At the end there's a happy birthday message from Paul McCartney to Paul Simon.Part 1 :
"Happy Birthday Paul". "Thank you Paul". LMAO!

Drooling on breasts is good for the teeth I've heard.

I read that watching female beauty has a effect on men like chocolate or music. so, beautiful girls in the world, turns us on!
My teeth are fine...

And I know what happens at these girls nights---

Done! and I'll vote from my mom's ISP too
Checking out The Refugees. My goodness...reading their bios...some serious musical track records. They have five songs on their My Space page. I like 'em! Thanks!
We saw Cindy Bullens in concert two years ago. She really rocked the roof off the building. We have 4 of her CD's. From Wendy Waldman we have a LP from the 60th. I havenΒ΄t listened to it for years.

Remember when I mentioned a very famous Belgian artist called Toots Thielemans who apparently played a version of Waters Of March that Art also recorded? I found another video today that shows he had another connection to S&G! LOVE this. He plays mouth organ, of course.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toots_Thielemans (you might also want to read the "influence" part of this wiki article.)
-
wendy waldman has written (and sung, too) some good songs. for example "mad, mad me" carrying on the conversation i look into your eyes they jump and burn, and make me see how much to you i long to be ooooooh baby, how i love you mad as i think you are i guess you think i'm crazy too, but mad, mad me i love you

Learned something new! I'd heard my dad mention Toots Thielmans but didn't know anything about him. What really strikes me is reading John Lennon and George Shearing in the same sentence...my dad was very fond of George Shearings music and it would have raised his opinion of Mr Lennon to know he used to listen to him too.

Oh my god, NOT Chad Michael Murray!
: I don't know what it is with him, but I can't stand to see him play.
i think it is because of the fact that he just cannot act
i meant to see Jensen with my re-runs.
Had to google this guy since I don't recognize the name....he may be a lousy actor...but he is in good physical shape...

I've spent a bunch of time strolling down memory lane today. I was given "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour: Best of the third season" on dvds. Typical of the Brothers they have released the last season first.
They include some of the censored stuff and it's interesting to see how tame it is by today's standards. CBS took out a whole song that Harry Belafonte sang with video of the '68 democratic convention riots running in the background. On Dec 8, 1968 the finale song was "What Would Happen If" and posed that question regarding many subjects...one of the lines was 'What would happen if there was racial equal opportunity?" and the skit had a Black president! The show was just 40 years ahead of it's time!
Jim Morrison singing "Touch Me" and "Wild Child"...dang, I'd forgotten how handsome he was
I'd forgotten how talented Tom and Dick where as folk singers...even without the funny stuff...great harmonies.

Very cool...S&G also appeared on the Smothers Brothers...a few times.
Art's moustache is so wrong. The coloured shirts are also very interesting.

Welcome to the Supernova Club! The old Supernova thread has reached 1,000 pages and will soon be moved to the Souvenir section. In this thread we talk about all kinds of music. We are going to talk about bands/artists like The Smiths, Oasis, Adam Green, The Beatles, The Strokes, Brigitte Bardot, Hard-Fi, Babyshambles, Amy Winehouse, Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby Stills & Nash, Arcade Fire, Beck, Turbonegro, The Hooters, The Go! Team, La Rocca, Manic Street Preachers, Nada Surf, Yeah Yeah Yeahs etc.
The people contributing to this thread are officially called "beautiful people". There are no rules right now...but that could soon change.
We talk about music here, but this is a place where we can talk about anything. Have fun!

Just found this link: http://magazine.jamsbio.com/2009/01/05/playing-the-beatles-backwards-the-ultimate-countdown Someone made a countdown of Beatles songs. All 185 of them.
From 185 to 1 in order of how much the person compiling the list likes them. Each song comes with its youtube vid, it's kind of awesome!
The Beatles only had 185 songs? I thought there were much more... Anyway, now I can see what songs I do not know, And if I do not know some songs, I'll defenitely WILL know 'em!
You're right, The Beatles did more than 185 songs. They recorded 212 songs (212 songs in the official Beatles catalogue) , but there are original songs only on the list. THANKS FOR THE LINK, EVIE.
And is there a website with the full Beatles catalogue? I mean, not the songs. But the titles and albums on wich they are. Because, I think I haven't got all their songs, but I want to. I've got 202 if I'm right. Only 10 more to go!

This Supernova has been extremely luminous, it's been three years now... still it has not faded from view. I don't think it will die any time soon.

I know that they recorded 212 songs because a couple of years ago a Norwegian radio station played one song every day and at the same time gave the history and background for the song. Read about it here: http://www.beatlesfanclub.nl/content/view/1123/47/ http://www.nrk.no/programmer/radio/norgesglasset/beatles/1.1579989 http://www.nrk.no/programmer/radio/norgesglasset/beatles/1.1560019 http://www.nrk.no/programmer/radio/norgesglasset/beatles/1.1511250
