as much as I enjoyed the opening acts, I'm really only interested in having Paul's performance.

What a shame! I just heard Ringo and the Roundheads were doing a 45-minute opening set of Beatle's oldies...

The girl that played guitar and fiddle was ok - horrendously bad guitarist, but FANTASTIC on violin! I thought Wintersleep was super boring. But Joel was incredible!!! I wouldn't mind having that performance either!

I didn't like Wintersleep at all... long guitar solos (not very good ones, either) and the occasional vocal which I didn't understand... but Joel Plaskett blew me away. He was great.

I'm getting the DVD tomorrow (Saturday) from the local guy! I'm 99% sure it's just Paul, though. I REALLY disliked Wintersleep. But loved Plaskett. Though I live in Halifax, I had never bothered to see Plaskett in concert before, and was pleasently surprised by how great he was.
-
huh I kind of liked wintersleep. I enjoyed their music. They werent as good as Plaskett but I would listen to them again.. The other one (I forget her name) she had a good voice and some of her songs were cool but shes still got a long way to go but the potential is there. The only real issue I had with her was her gushing over Paul and The Beatles...it was a bit much
-
Plaskett was very, very good. A great surprise. I thought Wintersleep was repetitive, all songs were very similar...did not like them. As for the girls (I can't remember her name either), I liked her, I think she did a great job. Hey Blondevixen, please keep us updated on the DVD!

"Girl" was Sierra Noble. First time I had heard her. She was pretty good.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone who snuck in their nice cameras (I saw a few professional looking ones around in the crowd.) could hook me up with any nice hi-resolution photos they got? I wanted to print a poster for my basement and the larger(and nicer) the photo the better, so you could just transfer the full sized file to my email account. I would really appreciate it. If you have a photobucket or something showing the pictures off in smaller size first all the better. I saw a few in this thread but they were all smaller shots, curious if anyone could part with their full size originals? Thanks

I did not use a professional camera, but I was in the 1st row: http://s649.photobucket.com/albums/uu218/dsmar1/?albumview=grid Let me know if you see any that you like.

robothobo, what are you printing them with? I have a 52" printer & have found it very hard to get a good enough DPI photo to be able to blow it up to that size without it breaking apart. Although I did do about a 4' one for a friend & she wanted to use it as a blanket! Kidding! dsmpaul, what is the file size of most of your pics? Which do you think is the clearest?

Most of them are between 6MB-8MB. What do you think of this one?: http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu218/dsmar1/CIMG0222.jpg And this one: http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu218/dsmar1/CIMG0027.jpg

ooooo...that 2nd one is so cool! Isn't that background he's been using on the large screens weird? As far as photos, I mean. It gets you all cross eyed. LOL! :

For the prints I've was planning on just popping over to a local print shop, and seeing what the results are like. Hopefully I can find something nice enough to put on a wall, at whatever size it may be. (Obviously the bigger the better but as you said dpi is a factor.) dsmpaul that second shot is fantastic, is that the original output size from your camera or did you resize it for the net?

I think Photobucket resizes it automatically. The original is bigger. I can send you the original, if you want. Just PM me your e-mail address.

To anyone who went to the show in Halifax, was a concert program available? The reason I ask is because the program I bought in New York does not (for some reason) list Halifax as part of the Summer '09 Tour. Thanks.
-
No, I don't remember seeing a program in Halifax at all but then I got to the merch stand after the show. I was also surprised to see that Halifax was not in the program date list. Also note that the t-shirt being sold at the US concerts, the one with the dates on the back also DO NOT list Halifax.

I didn't see a program. I was there for the opening acts, but I was in the food lines most of the time. The don't let you take in food, and with bright sun I get headaches easily, so I was forced to buy the only stuff available, all junk food. No fresh fruits or vegetables. Five chip wagons, pizza, meat on sticks, burgers, pop. Yuck. If I could have at least taken a dried fruit bar it would have helped. If you want to see anything you have to line up early, which we did, so we were there all day in the sun with no food or drink, they took our water because it was open (long line and wait before we got into the park, in the sun). So we were forced to either eat junk food or starve. Huge line-ups for food tickets, more lines for actually getting the food. You can't carry much at once, so it meant multiple trips to keep blood sugar at not bad headache level. Each trip was extremely slow, with the creep-along crush of traffic. Solid people, impossible to get a short distance even without it taking a long time. Everyone around me in chairs and lines was frustrated, but we knew and agreed that when Paul came on stage it would all be forgotten and more than worth it. So from what I could hear and see of the opening acts, there was some good stuff. It would have been a very different experience if I'd had a blanket and a pic-nic basket and could settle near the stage and just stay there. I'd pay a bigger fee to get into the park if I could do that instead of them making money off of concessions. It would be a lot healthier and more pleasant. As I had planned, I had finished with all the eating, made sure I'd used the facilites before Paul came on. It made me miss most of the opening acts, but I saw him!

One site has the Torrent of the PPV of the show (just Paul, without the opening acts). I downloaded it and it is not HD, but it is OK (they let I saw her standing there out for some reason). I don't know if I can put the link here though. Martin?

Also downloaded video via torrent. Not fabulous HD quality or anything, but it was decent. Was really nice to see it again.
