Stealing your post Christy!
Agree with every word!
I didn't make a box of notes before writing this post, how surprising it might seem!
You intelligent relative of a donkey!!
. That was a good movie. I see a couple suggestions for a quote of the day....sorry....I've gotta go with this one, short, to the point...(which I have no idea what it was)I am of the 'old' school (what else could I be
) back in the day when pen was put to paper to keep track of one's thoughts when studying. I realize it's a HUGE stretch to compare reading this daily intercourse with higher learning. (but if you drink enough wine it's all higher learning
: ) Very prompt conversion of Svenn to a more user friendly format
I checked the link and found this gal...she's having waaay too much fun with her karaoke tracks.
...there must be more to it
.Lil Roo....you're livin' up to your nickname...just hop in and hop out...(sounds like a Karate Kid movie....or one of Svenn's fantasies....or maybe something involving George Clooney's.....um..er...feet!
) So what did I learn today....gaseous pigs are a hit on tv, Angela's lazy, Bjorn is exhausted, Christy was stewing up herring![](
Stufmud:
Holy crap!
Strikes me....this is the third Eurovision contest I've been aware of...pretty cool what I've learned on line.

And now for something completely different...
Fil and I share a love of a particular type of music known as "American Standards". I'm guessing at least some of you won't be familiar with this genre cuz you're either too young
or are living on a side of the planet where it's perhaps not so prevalent. Anyway, the era from which this music comes is roughly the 1930's and 1940's, and a lot of it was used in, and often composed for, old Broadway musicals, by composers such as the infamous Irving Berlin. Over time, many of those old Broadway shows became movies and the music was found again in that medium. This particular Berlin song however, (although from the same genre and era) , was written expressly for a "musical film", entitled "Follow the Fleet" (1936), starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. http://www.reelclassics.com/Teams/Fred&Ginger/fred&ginger5.htm Over the decades, this great song has since been recorded by many of music's greatest artists including: --Anita O'Day (1956) --Ella Fitzgerald (195
--Nat King Cole (1961) --Frank Sinatra (1961) --Tony Bennett (1987) --Diane Krall (1999) ....and many more, all in various styles. Actually, that's the beauty of this song, I think. The number of different ways it can be done is staggering, and a YouTube search will reveal some real gems to you, if you're interested.
In our version, Fil has done all guitar work, production, and "artwork"
(shown here), and the vocal work is mine.
So, without further delay (and not without it's flaws

), Fil and I happily share with you............... Let's Face the Music and Dance!

It's not my kind of music.
ops: But it's a perfect rendition of this songs. Christy you have a great voice.
Fils' guitar work is marvellous.

And thanks too, for your nice words!
Nice words???...I said something "nice".
..sheesh I must be slipping
Oooh....hurry up with what you're going to post...I have to assume the mantle of "chauffeur" for my mom very soon.
Hey Tina! It's not quite finished cooking....soon though!
Is it soup or stew?! Maybe some sour herring?!
Hmmm....probably more of a stew, considering that it's been simmering for a loooonnng time.
ops:
As for "sour"........well, you'll have to tell us. I'm thinkin' that a couple of the notes might be!
But you decide!
I got to taste it a bit before, so I knew it could be digested!
And I am always into trying the stuff that most of you find gross!

Hiya! I was gonna make some music today, but I'm way to exhausted, after a LONG day at work, I have laid down a beat and done some practicing, hopefully I'll get into doing it tomorrow, but it can take a while, many small parts to add...if I have the patience..but MUSIC is in the works!!
Hi yourself!
Hey, by now you should know at least two things about this gang: --We're in no rush!
....and... --We're not goin' anywhere!
So take your time! Looking forward to tasting YOUR stew!
Thanks heaven, then I can get back to my original plan of releasing it in 2010 then!

I may be younger than you, at least I assume that
, but I did study using pen and paper too, very much so, I have BOXES of notepads from those years!! That is why my handwriting is too fast and also unreadable for most!
You have seen it on postcards!
I am glad you do make notes from time to time, like yesterday, when DaBear had to rest!
Troll away, any time you feel like, it's the best thing to find in the morning when I have a minute to have a break at work!!

Ok, back to the woodshed for some practicing!

I'm not little, but I do have long legs, so I can easily get over piles of stuff... I have to, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get around in my own house

Yoko send my a message via Facebook (I'll keep pretending those famous people really do that themselves
) about an exhibition of John's work in Liverpool. Yoko says, "JOHN LENNON: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS For the first time in their entirety in Liverpool. The Liverpool Daily Post and Echo offices Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L69 3EB, UK. 23 May 2008 - 2 June 2008. Mon-Fri, midday ? 8:00pm. Admission: free". Is it a coincidence they planned this at this time?

Svenn:
YEAH. Norway qualified for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest!
But not Belgium and Netherlands... I'm sorry...
Don't be sorry. I didn't expect Belgium to get into the contest anyway
What a trip! On my way home from work the radio (NPR) was talking about the Belgian entry, they had the composer on and everything.
Apparently the lyrics are in a language he made up. They mentioned that the song was already out of the running.
