Well, FINALLY, here's a new song of mine, original song, not cover or "duet", you know... It's about what you really have in life is yourself and that's what you carry on with really for worse or for better. Sometimes I think the lyrics are fantastic, sometimes I think they don't make sense. I'm finishing 2 songs more written by me. They both have lots of instruments and are very long, so when recording this I wanted to do the oppossite and make it as simple as I could. It's only 2 guitar strings (stratocaster unplugged, not acoustic) and vocals (well, and one string more for the little solo) You've Got Yourself
It's a haunting song - great melody, and very soulfully sung Oliver. Nice!
thank you
, I though of a more "ethereal" singing... but I didn't like that for this one.
-
Bjorn Karlsson:
Hullo folks!!
What a day, got the big black Beatles "coffin"
- The stereo remasters. Then also the new Macca live album and video, AND as if all of that wasn't enough I got a double disc Blu-Ray with the brand new documentary by/about Monty Python, SO I am bit busy!
Haven't counted how many hours of entertainment that is all in all, but it is over 24 h non-stop for sure!
then we wait your report about the remasters, especially being you a master of mastering... I almost never like what they do to a classic record when they "remaster", but maybe this time is different. I probably have never had listened to the original mix as any Beatle CD is a remaster too...

ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT? (Audi & Oliver) 11-17-2009: Enjoy! -a
Enjoyed it for sure!!!!
Audi you KNOW the way how talk like Elvis himself
, I know, been a fan since I was 5!! Great, Oliver, your love for Elvis and practising karaoke, combined with the "eternal" reverb effect gives this a nice feel, and Elvis is difficult to do for sure - you two do a great job!!
Thanks
I'm a late fan though. I didn't like Elvis before, all I knew was the cold studio recordings. I guess he needed 20 takes (or more) to do this one. Then I watched at MTV him live doing Suspicious Minds and If I Can Dream and that changed my opinion. I started listening him at concerts, that's what I really like from him... Bought the Aloha and just sang along sometimes. He's new to me, unlike singing with the Beatles or Queen... and yes, that particular karaoke is my Hamburg, only there are not strip girls...
but there are hot ones anyway...
It's really a special place, I don't like the rest of karaokes located here.

so many new stuff to listen, to late do it for me... BUT... besides' Audi's post here I come with the music Audi has done everything but the lead vocals (harmonies, guitar and speech). And I think of all his tracks are great. There some little noises here and there that I don't know how to delete, I think only Bjorn knows how to do that.
My job were the vocals. I've never sang this song before. And it has been my most difficult vocals EVER. I kind of tried to sing the song for some minutes until I though I got something similar to Elvis... then I listened to the original and I realized it was not like that. Elvis does every line with just one breath, starting every line loud and ending quietly... I've recorded 3 versions really In all of them I set the compressor to "Classic", which I don't have a clue, but I though "Classic" should be the setting for and Elvis thing. Version 1 trying to copy... it has some reverb www.oliversanz.com/lonesomeelvisstyle.mp3 Version 2 after doing that I noticed I forgot about the double vibrato
, the kind Elvis and Roy Orbison used virtually all of the time, and still Tom Jones too, so I tried again with constant double vibrato, it sounds very old-fashioned, less reverb now www.oliversanz.com/lonesomedoublevibr.mp3 Version 3 that's when I just had enough of Elvis
, and I just wanted to sing forgetting about him (then it sounds kind of new-fashioned), no reverb at all www.oliversanz.com/lonesomefreestyle.com I don't use to say this, but I think we have done better than the Elvis version. I prefer Audi's guitar, harmonies and speech. Yes, there are some little sound things, but that could be fixed with some program I don't know his name. And as for me... well... I think I've done a little worse than Elvis in the lowest notes, and a little better on the highest notes . Like it's meant to be having different registers... if we do We are the world, it could be called the Impossible Recording

THIS IS A SONG I STARTED 6 MONTHS AGO, BUT FOUND IT SO HARD I GAVE UP....UNTIL NOW... I'm still not happy with it, the bass is intricate, and the harmonies are many...the drums are in triplets....etc.. But here it is anyway - I suppose this will undergo a 100 remixes until I'm satisfied. This is NOT the finished version! THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK DOWNLOAD http://rapidshare.com/files/308480976/The_Only_Living_Boy_In_New_York.mp3.html LISTEN http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/song_2830255

maybe is you have some volume control (recording or whatever) too loud, so it makes that noise when you speak louder

Four years ago today, Filippo sent me a PM asking if I wanted to try and make a Paul McCartney recording using internet technolgy. He said he quite fancied trying to do No More Lonely Nights. With that, we asked for a vocalist, and along came Bjorn. Then, with added backing vocals, and tracks of his own along came Brian. Forty odd albums later, including every single Beatles track, here we are. Along with Joey, Val, Christy, Evie, Nancy, Audi, Oliver and others, Global Wings still exists. I like to think Paul knows about us, my spies say that he does! The GW website is back up, with every single album available to download for free. Just click on the album, burn it to CD and enjoy. http://www.globalwingsmusic.bravehost.com/index.htm Later today/tomorrow I am uploading the latest album - FOUR YEARS ON. It will include most of my latest stuff, together with Bjorns, Audi and Eve's material since the last album. If I have missed anything, please PM me, and I will add it to our archives. I HIGHLY reccomend downloading the album, as nearly every track is being remixed, remastered, equalised and compressed for absolute maximum quality. ALl the tracks will be 256Mb MP3's, and as I say, it's free to download and enjoy. Watch out for the album soon, new vocals, new mixes, some new songs. Oh and, it's an HONOR to be part of this little group - it's improved all of us as musicians, singers and producers. It is indeed the best music class ever!! Take care all!!

gary, your words gave me a lil tear. i remember it so well. we were flying high and what is so great to hear is that GW still IS flying!!!!!! remember? our snowball that turned into a mountain? so, today is officially Global Wings day. i'm not a singer or producer but it gave me even more appreciation for music, seeing how it's actually put together. and you've all introduced me to music i might never have heard. i can't ever forget the excitement when a new song came out. remember how we worried 'what if we covered every beatle song...what then'....well, i see it doesn't have to be beatles at all, although they are the frosting on the cake. a few pages back i mentioned being sentimental for GW and watching Our House and these were/and are good feelings. so HAPPY GLOBAL WINGS DAY!!! filippo, you have to come out of the woodwork.....brian...my dear, dear brian with the beautiful mellow voice...where are ya? ok, i couldn't get Are You Lonesome Tonight or The Only Living Boy in NY. can you put those back up with fresh links? Rapidshare says each link is only entitled to 10 downloads and even though i RACED to get them, i kept getting error. when i finally got through it said the 10 download limit had been reached. hmmmm....more than just us here have been d/l them. anyways, i DID get In My Place and LOVE!!!! it. and you did it in 50 minutes?????? holyyyyyyyyyyy cowwwwwwwwwww!!!!

there's lots of loudness control in the pc, like loudness of playing, loudness of recording, I play with that till I find there's no noise (or almost :lol
