Lot's of interesting stuff today about small fingers, frets and impossible chords, notes and so on! My hands are quite big, and fingers quite long, so, I can play "impossible" chords where you have to stretch over many frets, BUT strangely, I manage to play even on the frets that are small, maybe the finger tips are small?!? Don't know?!? And just look at Rusty's hands, another guitarist with big hands..now as you all know size doesn't matter, of course!

How is it that each time the lot of us start a conversation about ANY subject, it always, ALWAYS seems to come back to something like this?

oh I see, I was missing something... I was missing playing the chords in those frets... And what if you record it in the normal key with the guitar... and then change the pitch of the recording with Audacity or anything...
Ah, no....I'm not going to start changing pitches on guitar work...it was bad enough that I had to change the pitch on your piano track for Bridge, but I did not enjoy doing that. ops: The natural sound is better.
ok, then, for instance if the song is in A, and you want to sing it higher, let's say... in D, instead of capo the 5th fret, you can play a D chord instead of an A chord, so on, etc.

a-ha! an "impossible duet" great
The impossible is just beyond me this time , I sang this song "blindfolded"! If I'd heard that other version before, I'd sing trying very carefully to get it to fit with that, this was just me singing freely..SO...WOW, yes, I am puzzled right now!
you see, nothing is impossible talking bout Lennon and technology.. I'm sure he could have wanted to record his voice over an Elvis recording to get a duet... and I guess Paul too.. Why Elvis never did duets with anyone? Maybe the stage (or the recording) was not big enough for another to join, I don't know

well, my hands are very big too, it's good for piano, big fingertips are good for vibrato, licks and things like that on the electric guitar, but not for playing chords on the ac guitar

I understand Adam Lambert's scandal, but if you notice, the ones doing "scandalous" things are the dancers, not him. He only kissed that guy. If someone saw on TV what I did yesterday in the karaoke would find Adam Lambert thing innocent... I didn't kiss anyone (unfortunately)... I just choosed Whola Lotta Love (after Are you lonesome tonight) and wanted to get as loose as possible... I began singing moving back and forwards, then on my knees, then just laying on the floor, like if it was a bed... It was very fun. A big joke, but hey, it fitted the song!, If I ever had shame or stiffness on stage that has dissapeared. I took a look around and there was no children there.

I'm not that evolved in guitar playing that I can suddenly transfer all the chords to the corresponding higher chords. Really, my knowledge is so basic I am surprised I manage to play anything at all. :

No none happens to have a cover of John Farnham's You're The Voice sitting on their hard drives, have you? Just...don't ask, haha. But that song is so stuck in my head now and I'm listening to it way more than I probably should.

Hey guys, I've got this question... ...I'm going to Paul McCartney in Arnhem (only 5 days left!) And... I really want to be in a picture with Paul! Because the chance is like... really small I'll meet him before the concert, I thought I'd make my dad take a picture of me, with Paul in the background (on the stage and on the screens) (We've got seated places) But... If I'd do so,.. ...We'd get a problem, I guess: Autofocus. When I'm good in the picture, Paul will be very blurry. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Maybe I can help you. Or you just play it with capo on the 5th fret. What chords do you play?

SO PAUL HAS A NEW SONG OUT! I heard it this afternoon for the very first time and think it's great!! I quickly did this, and it's full of mistakes. I'll completely redo this in the end, but for now, from the upcoming move...Everybody's Fine... I must confess I'm not an ac guitar expert, but IMO you do it very well. The problem you may face is that when you learn the song you learn something like A, D, E chords, for instance... and till you record you don't know in what key you want it really. If you knew it before, you'll think... Ok... 3 notes higher, so it will be C, F and G. And you would only must learn it that way...

not that one, You're the voice was one of my fav songs ever before I knew the Beatles and co., today I was thinking of doing In My Defence, I've seen this video this morning though John Farham and Tom Jones (live)- It's A Long Way to the top
btw fantastic video of In My Defence, where you can see and hear Freddie's vocal warm-up, Freddie got feeling in every note and word... Adam Lambert doesn't have that... maybe in the future he will -

I occasionally stop in here to listen in, and it seems I'm never disappointed. EpiphoneC., that was beautiful....you have such a pleasing tonality to your voice....just great!!
