THE GLOBAL WINGS THREAD

21st Century Paul:
in the meantime I'm gonna post a link to what we already have done with Mr. Bellamy... because if not I guess we're just gonna forget about it. I think this started in a thread called "Let's do a band in the board" or so. Some guy (not me) recorded the piano and I was told to record the vocals. But it still that, piano+vocals. It need especially drums, then some sounds here and there.... I went back to my old days, copying Paul. Not the thing I like the most to do now, but that was the way to continue with the recording. Hope someone does the drums. [Mister Bellamy (in progress, piano + vocals)-Let's do a band with people on the board project[/size">](www.oliversanz.com/misterbellamy.mp3]<span style=)
I remember. But, apparently, I'd forgotten how not in-the-pocket it is. Really hard to add percussion to tracks that are not in rhythm. You know -- like Elvis. But, seriously, the piano track is good -- as far as the hitting the right keys -- but the timing is not sufficient. Very erratic and jumpy.

Have you got your own YouTube Channel like audi does, Oliver? I'm wary of opening up music vids here, now, after what happened

No reflection at all on you, OK, Ollie? The piano track is what the issue here.

This time is not me. To the bin then... When you play piano all alone you like to play with the timing, play faster then slower, go changing the songs, it's what Elton does when he plays all alone live. And then it's kind of hard to change the attitude when you're playing into a band thing, you must keep a metronome in your mind or so... Ringo or Roger Taylor had to deal with things like this... Strawberry Fields Forever and all that....

yes, even quite older.... what audi said http://www.youtube.com/user/OliverSanzVideos not many VIDEOS really, only the ones for the very first time I played live... the one I did with pics for That's The World That I Belong To, the Too Much Meat song for Paul's contest It's probably that I record something straight with the cam, not using any music recording software, cause I find no way of synching the audio with the video. What happened?

Well, maybe my vocals are not in time either, I don't know, I think I didn't watch that much, I only wanted to do kind of the difference "voices" similar to Paul.

Audi plays everything on Rock And Roll. Actually it's on his channel too. I just do the vocals. I think that lately I'm doing too many ballads, so maybe something oppossite could come. I thought of doing Mozart's requiem Dies Irae in a kind of heavy metal way... that happens after you do McCartney's classical...

yet another reason for not recording the "jams" is I don't sing exactly the lyrics . Just what I remind and the rest are meaningless words. For instance: "We all came down to Montreaux @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Frank Zappa and the Mothers @@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@ Smoooke on the water and fire in the sky smoooke on the water and fire in the sky"

I added guitar/bass/drum tracks to an online buddy's cover of Elvis' "Hot Dog," a song from the Loving You soundtrack 1957. His Youtube video before my tracks were added:
The track after I mixed in additional instruments:this is great (that's kind of how my audio (the voice) will sound if I want to record video)
-
audi:
Added tracks to his cover of Elvis' "One Night". If you ask me, Stephen sounds amazingly like a Sun Records-era Elvis! Uncanny! ONE NIGHT (Stephen's original guitar/vocal):
ONE NIGHT (with Audi's additional guitar/bass/drum tracks):I like it especially from 1.00 on, he gets more into the song . Looots of Elvis stuff in his channel.

I've tried recording audio and video straight from the cam but the audio was poor. If I put the mic close my mouth then the audio of my voice gets better but the audio of the background gets worse. But this is all I can do as far as I know, and I've seen many videos are done like this anyway.
-
it looks like I'll upload something tomorrow... I've managed to record in a way both background and vocals are very recorded but then the whole video itself doesn't sound very loud. And then I've got another version where the video sounds loud, but you can't almost hear the background.... anyway it's a very popular one... I'll decide tomorrow, now I'm going to see the football match.
-
Great news, Ollie! Looking forward to it.
-
well, this is it. I'm quite retired from karaokes, I decided to record one at home. This time is really a video, me doing karaoke in all the song at home. Bohemian Rhapsody-Me, home video karaoke
-
Nice video, Oliver.

Svenn:
Nice video, Oliver.
The audio gets worse for being recorded that way. I held the mic between me and the PC loudspeakers to record both things. (That's why the cam couldn't be pointed down, lol). But some asked for a video karaoking... If this was done in a karaoke the audio quality would have been worse, with the noise there. I get in a tongue-in-cheek at 3.48 or so... it shows it's live, lol. No studio tricks or anything. Not even reverb or equalizing... it sounds like a phone conversation. anyway nothing really matters to me....
-
now that this about my old karaoke days... here's some videos of some guy I sang with sometimes there, Ebony and Ivory... or anything really. Georgia On My Mind
Lost Without You here is him with his Stevie's impression lol
