As I mentioned, I've fallen for the pressure! Been playing this song occasionally. A Macca classic, love the simple arrangement, that is actually not so simple! Love the Wings harmonies and the bass is stunning . BUT I just did this with my portable handheld recording device, for the fun of it, no fixing done, live track, with a basic mix... SO, hope you have the patience to listen to this simple track, as I said, love the song, and would anyone like to try to record any harmonies, I won't say no! This is such a pretty tune, and you did a great job with it! You have a great style, and your voice has a very special quality to it, imo
Thanks Claudia for you feedback!! BT, the song is a great little tune, never understood why it wasn't released until 1990...
now I understand... It's a outtake of Wild Life... It's like why Christian Pop, Yvonne (The One), The Mist of Central Park, etc are not still released when they are "classics" level... that can only happen with Paul McCartney. When I played your recording someone was around here and asked to me "is that someone famous?" and I though for a moment and said... "no" and that someone said "but he sounds like if he was someone famous"
Which is, yet, one more reson why we wall wish B had pursued that American Idol opportunity in Sweden. He's a star and doesn't even realize it.
Oh, I think he realises he's a rock star. He's just too shy. Next time he has to try to be the next Swedish Idol!
well, the long and winding road is very long and very winding... I don't know what is his but I hope he finds it (if he really wants to find it). I love this song "You can't run away forever..." Rock And Roll Dreams Come Trough-Meatloaf
Meatloaf is too, too, too, tooooooo dramatic for me.
yes, of course he is, too much dramatic for me too... but I like the song itself anyway. And he's even more dramatic live.

The experiment of plugging instruments in that karaoke-pub finished as that... an experiment. There was no way of plugging the keyboard and amplify it. There was some kind of amp to plug the guitar. But it had no distortion and the high notes were virtually not amplified either ("It fell on the water"), so all there was left to do is to play the guitar like if it was a bass... so, well (after jamming around).. I sang Hey Jude playing guitar chords (sounding like a bass), and the thing is don't notice much the difference between sheer karaoke and traditional performance, like grabbing a keyboard or guitar and sing (open mic nights). The only difference for me is playing some chords... so, well... as there's virtually no place here to play in a traditional way, I think I'll keep on liking karaokes...

Do you not have open mic nights over there then? They are pretty much an institution here especially in the town where I last worked (and now go back for for the music...long journey but worth it) Before I started going I didn't realise just how much really great music you could discover in this way.

footage? do you mean video taken from singing at karaokes? No, I don't think so, the audio would not be very good. For better audio I already post sometimes the "impossible duets" things, that's kind of the same that karaoke.

Well, no. I searched for them and I only found 2 or 3 places. And I thought all of them were English or Irish pubs... Playing in a open mic night is veeeery complicated here. I gave some of my stuff to those few places but I never received an answer. Anyway... I'm not attracted to play only one night. It's like... I'm gonna learn all the lyrics, the songs, etc. ... for just one night. I'd like to play with some kind of regularity.

Wow it's quite different here. There are places that have them regularly, one place I go to has them every Sunday night. It's usually the same people that play each weekend including some of my friends. From there, they then had the opportunity to play a lot of gigs, some quite big at various festivals and Band contests.

for Elvis fans... an impossible duet... not me... Elvis and Paul-Heartbreak Hotel
Paul with Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana-That's Allright Mama (the closest thing to a Beatle-Elvis reunion recording) -
well, I don't use to check my website stats but I've just taken a look... And there's a file that has 40000 hits or so... nothing like the others... but, as far as I remember, I only posted it here. I don't know what happened... "I'd like to know, so here I go again..." www.oliversanz.com/madworld.mp3

I think those hits come from... China! well... that Karaoke I went it's not what it used to be... the guy that set the sound there doesn't work there anymore... so it's not the same at all. There was a time when that was a special place where people sang great and had fun. this video is for those days

I don't know if someone here submits their stuff to managers or record labels and similars. I sometimes do, and I've never got any kind of feedback (except for the Meat Free Monday thing). I've recently submitted some stuff to managers here in Barcelona, and I now have reached the figure of 250 rejections. I know The Beatles were rejected kind of 200 times (Beatles bios...), so I wanted to beat that figure. Well, not that I wanted, but if they tried 200 times, I wanted to try at least the same times, and I'm happy I'm still trying after 250. I do not know if I should stop counting after the MFM, that makes me very happy but it's not about music business really. Does anybody know of some higher "rejection figures" for anyone?

This appeared in MFM facebook's profile (still remains) http://www.facebook.com/supportmfm "Afternoon all - we're in the process of uploading your MFM tribute songs to the Meat Free Monday YouTube channel. What a host of undiscovered talent! The Cosmic Farmers are up there, Brent Morgan, The Theory of 6... we'll add more as we discover them. But a particular shout-out goes to Oliver Sanz, with his heart-rending ballad Too Much Meat... Enjoy " And after this message, they put a link to my video. No, I didn't steal any lyrics... the kind of lyrics I wrote were very different, and very different from the others lyrics I've heard for this. There's people that is kind of famous there, "Brent Morgan", I don't know who he is but he's got milion of visits in his myspace so I guess he's famous there (UK, USA, I don't know... :lol

thanks for this info. i say, it'll be fun to see and listen to all the entries they deem worthy--makes me wish like heck someone had agreed to place a tune to my admittedly kind of odd lyrics, and made a vid of me singing it with them providing musical accompanionment in the back ground, hee hee. man would i have got a kick out of that of being featured, too you must have jumped for joy, absolutely burst with pride, over how they acknowledged and praised your work, oliver. wow you lucky (also talented) duckie when did this happen? can you provide a link to your praised effort? i'm sure i'm not the only one who would love to see it. are many other winning entries already being shown on paul's you tube channel, meat free mondays section, is that where you said?--oh--these are on a special 'meat free monday' channel just for the cause you've really piqued loads of interest. i'm glad for you, barcelona boy oh, wow
