THE GLOBAL WINGS THREAD

Hi guys, I'm Björn's friend! Some of you don't know me, some do. I was a regular here some time ago, and I felt like visiting this thread after all this time. Great to hear about this Band On The Run competition, which made me stick my ukulele out and having a go at it. I will hardly get one vote, but who cares!
As a veggie, it's also great to read about Meat Free Monday, which I didn't know about. Not sure I will get the inspiration to write something especially for it, but still it's a great idea. Take care everybody, and see you!Fil, that almost sounded like an introduction at a AA meeting!! So, doing Uke versions, maybe you should do a medley of the whole album as you did with The White album once!! That was really, really impressive!! And you're the music machine as always, unstoppable, and doing peculiar arrangements!! Great BOTR version!

Thanks Oliver. How's it going?
For me? Zero votes. But well, I'm not even sure that I'm seeing is what is happening really, cause I can't vote, for instance... It's kind of strange cause I don't have "negative votes" either, I'm not sure if the video is well submitted.
It was surely a new version, much credit for you for doing that! I never got around this time doing something with this, and I never got on the Meat Free train either....cool that some did it though!! Fantastic that the music is still around here and that the train keeps moving!! Ride on, ride on!!

Well, well, well there's that Bjorn, funny I was thinking bout ya recently, you and Svenn, wondering where those 2 zany Scandinavians were hiding (LOL) themselves and hoped you guys can stay warm this winter way up there near the Arctic Circle, it must feel like Christmas already (laughs), Yeah I think you and your friend sound super, very nice rendition of a Macca masterpiece, man Now, if you'd done one for "Meat Free Monday" you'd have won recognition for it, just as Oliver 21st Century Paul has done, it still isn't too late and you guys could come up with one. (if you're stuck for lyrics I can provide them )...check out Oliver's take on it, it's very good What you been up to? I wish you hadn't been partially concealed, often, by that big black boom of a microphone, it looks state of the art, impressive but we couldn't get to eyeball you singing, as much as we'd have liked. I was peering and squinting, trying to get a gander (LOL). You seem very proficient on the keyboards Bjorn and your friend is no slouch at geetar pickin'--cool how he is shown in a 'window' high up behind you. Good job! I haven't seen yours yet, McCartney, but I'll get to it
"partially concealed" Well, I like hiding!! Thanks for the review!! And it's snow here again, first snowfall of the year so far, has caused a lot of traffic problems, because the people that is supposed to get the snow off the roads are always "surprised" that it is winter again... : I thought a look at the weather report was all that it took...well, I don't care, I drive 80 miles back and forth to my job every day, in all weather, and some snowstorm doesn't stop me, not yet at least! OK, That Meaty competition never quite reached my awareness...it felt a little "dead" to me...is it still on?????????? And I understand you right that you have a lyric without melody still lying around? I am slow sometimes!

Digging in the wault I found this track, and it something I think most people here hasn't heard we did this almost 5 years ago...and those links has been dead or removed..so thought I'd repost it! Very nice early Global Wings track, a version of an unreleased McCartney song! LINDIANA - Bjorn & Gary http://rapidshare.com/files/430207276/Lindiana_-_Bjorn_and_Gary_-_Global_Wings.mp3 (It is a fast download link, you don't need an account to download this song!) Enjoy!

Oh yeah! Very nice O&A!!! That Golden Earth Girl is always welcome here, thanks for updating the song! We did a version long time ago, and I loved the singing part, and it was a tough one for sure! Doing McCartney's songs gives you serious singing lessons for sure!!
thank you, I missed that version

I guess MANY of the early songs we did are not available for most of you, I have some at my Reverbnation player.... the rest is on my hard drive! I found a list of song at the history part of this forum, where you can see the enormous speed we used to produce the songs at the beginning of this project...

Well, the Meaty competition has never officially ended, and never officially started... if not I could consider myself a winner, for once, but I can't.

I sometimes have thought of doing similar things with the piano, but I've thought "who the heck is gonna listen to this?", one or two if ever...

I think you Bjorn missed this. And now has become kind of strange favourite of us. We like now what we didn't like so much a year before. So if this is gonna be your listen, you should listen to this again in Nov 2011 and then you'll like it. : : : www.oliversanz.com/bewhatyousee.mp3

Well, why don't you, it would be a challenge!! BTW, I found Fil's 20 min medley, AND it was a part of Revolution no 9 in that for sure!! It was not Uke BTW, it was acoustic guitar, but VERY impressive!!

I don't do it because of that, I don't think no-one would listen to it. A... 30 minute piano recording.... , not even myself...
