Well, Audi did a recording of My Brave Face. And I was supposed to add keyboards or something... free-style... I thought that My Brave Face is a song that's similar to the Beatles early songs, only the arrangement is different, and the production. So, I thought of taking the song back in time to 1963 . And here it is... harmonica in the intro, some claps, Lennon/Mc typical harmonies, crazy high scream, "ooohsss", maybe the only thing that doesn't belong here is that Audi used some distortion and there was no guitar distortion then, but Audi didn't knew what I was going to do. I tried to play the 2 little guitar solo sounding like George Harrison then. But it doesn't sound like George Harrison. Audi and Oliver-My Brave Face "1963 version" Credits: Audi-drums, lead vocals, guitars, bass Oliver-backing vocals, harmonica (first time ever :lol, claps (first time ever too :lol, and lead guitar on the 2 little solos
To date, this is the MOST DIFFICULT McCartney vocal I've EVER done. This song is hard!!! I like the extra guitar leads you'd added, Ollie, but maybe another mix is needed. Vlivantje had it right: Blend your vocals into my original mix. Now get to work! : )
...hmm... I guess I'll try to make it the way you say and let's see what happens... I think I'll need time do it...
Bro, just remix what you've already done first. Save yourself some time. Just get rid of the lines where you're kinda' "late."

The link is working for me. Oliver, let me tell you how I think you could make this better. (though, as you know, I'm not in any way a professional musician so feel free to ignore everything I say here :lol Doing harmonies is great. I myself love figuring out a S&G harmony for example. Then, you actually have to sing these harmonies, which is the hardest part. In my opinion, a very nice harmony blends together with the lead vocal perfectly. That is to say....it STARTS and STOPS at the exact same moment the lead vocal does, and it does not start half a second later than the lead vocal and does not go on long after the lead vocal has ended, unless you were trying to get a reverb effect, which I'm sure you were not trying to do here. You should try it, Oliver. It would make a lot of difference. The very first notes you sing, they start half a second later than Audi's vocals and then you quickly try to catch up. It just....no. I know you like singing freely, but no. Also, that "crazy high scream"? No, it doesn't belong in this song either.
The crazy high scream belongs to take it back to 1963, I know it doesn't really belong there, just like some harmonies. I know what you mean about harmonies but I don't like much that way of doing harmonies. I like ones that add something to the singing melody. I mean.... ( :lol the kind of harmony I wanted to do is like Paul in Ticket To Ride or even the Ballad of John And Yoko... "I think I'm gonna be sad I think it's toDAY" and the harmony is there is a long note singing "day" But as audi sang and as My Brave Face is there is no long note, that's why it can not blend. If I make it blend it would not be so 1963...
Ollie, I say this out of love, ok? Your vocal track sounds like someone secretly had a microphone on you while you're singing along with the radio in your car. That's exactly the Beatles 1963 spirit Please remix it with your vocal track meshed in the mix -- not over the main track. It'll be sooo much better. Don't forget: Bjorn and Gary tolerated some atrocious tracks from me when I'd first joined Global Wings.
Ok, I'll do it, I'll need time. And you're warned.... you're not gonna like the result.... so... before reredoing it.... what exact harmonies do you want to me do? just type the words and I'll sing that lines in harmony with your voice

hmmm.... you both want me do what I don't really like to do... hmmm.... what do I do with the "ooh" then... If the harmonies are "blended" ones then that kind of harmony doesn't make sense here... Actually Paul sings that notes a little longer... "I've been living a lieeeee" not " a lie" hmm... I guess I'll try to make it the way you say and let's see what happens... I think I'll need time do it. BTW, Audi! get to work with that unfinished track, you know what it is.

Sure! Whenever I post something anywhere, it becomes fair game to be re-posted anywhere on the internet.
-
Well, I didn't say you had to delete everything Oliver. I just said it would be better if it were blending together more fluently. How about starting with making your and Audi's vocals the same volume? I don't have much time tomorrow or I'd try to make a version with me singing some harmonies to show you how I think it would be better. But like I said....I know you don't like singing this way, so you're free to ignore my and Audi's suggestions.

Whoopsie Daisy!! The GW soap opera continues... "who deletes who!?" What track remains, we will all find out in the next episode!! Will we all be in the mix or pushed waaaaaaay back! Anyhow, mixing is a joy of it's own, I have finished a remix of a Lennon Tribute, meant to be posted last week, but I guess he is still in our memory! Will post in a little while! Evie, really emotional Lennon tribute, beautiful and simple arrangement!! Audi, congrats on the Youtube premiere!! I think I heard those tracks before!! Great tracks! My Brave Face, yes surely that is brave doing that, I hear lots of work behind the track, now waiting for the FINAL version, that is the next thriller here! Good Luck Ollie! Seriously, the harmonies in My Brave Face, which is a really "tight" song, as I see it, requires perhaps a bit more harmony work "according to the book", but who are we to judge!? People enjoy "new" versions, but my thought goes out to the collaborate part of it, I would listen with my fellow musicians doing a project, making sure everyone has had their say about the project... BUT interesting to follow the progress!

[Here Today - REMIX 2010 - Bjorn[/color">](http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_6388958]<span style=) Well, this song speaks for itself! Such a beautiful tribute from Paul, telling us how strong his love for John was! So, finding those sorts of emotions myself, was very easy, remembering loved ones that are no longer here with me...but the memories are, and those remain...

let's say.. everything is like it is for a reason... If the volume is higher, there's a reason why... if it doesn't blend, there's a reason why (this seems like a song) If my harmonies doesn't blend... there's a reason why If my voice is mixed loud there's a reason why... for everything... there is a reason...

I'll tell you the harmonies I like the most in... the Beatles for instance... Some are the classic blending, third harmony but some are not that at all... Help, Paul sings a melody while John sings another I've got a feeling, same thing The ballad of John and Yoko, blended but not a third, Paul kind of creates another lead melody Baby's in black, the "classic style" This boy, they sing different things quite as in... Because though I know there is a tradition of the singing duo with guitar... and some kind of harmony attached to them... Everly Brothers and... then Simon and Garfunkel, Lennon and McCartney... anyway my fav harmony ever is this... skip to 3.11

My quasi-impression of Elvis Costello... This is a re-working of a song with intentionally bad lyrics that a buddy had me write music and record. Anyway, a very punk'ish, Elvis Costello-esque melody etched itself into my brain, and here's what happened... http://hotfile.com/dl/89735194/bbaa36f/Audi_-_Precipitation_%28Elvis_Costello__CBGBs_Version%29_12-15-2010.mp3.html lyrics: PRECIPITATION VERSE1: The road was slick As I turned my wipers on, The air was thick I saw you and the sun was gone. Now tomorrow is cold and yesterday's warm Is this all just a passing storm? [CHORUS:] Precipitation (4xs) VERSE 2: Well, I was dry And now I'm drenched to the bone, Wish you were mine What is this high-pressure zone? 'Cause neither snow nor hail nor lock nor gate Can ever stop what you precipitate... [CHORUS:] [BRIDGE] Precipi-ta-tion, You keep me from my appointed rounds, Precipi-ta-tion, You send me slipping to the ground. Precipi-ta-tion, Stop before you drown me again, Precipi-ta-tion, Your love's got me running down the drain. -a
