THE GLOBAL WINGS THREAD

Audi and Oliver, thanks for the Christmas music!! Hope everybody's holiday was as great as mine! Have been a food fiesta from day one, and now it's New Years... : Got to say, I have been like a kid going trough the impressive new Springsteen-box that I got, SO MUCH STUFF!!! I thought Macca was good at leaving songs out, but Bruce recorded 70 songs or so for his Darkness album and just used songs for two albums, so we get the rest in this box...and it's quality all through! Along with a fantastic documentary, live concerts and more. 3 blu rays, 3 CDs and a fantastic book, it's like his diary and notebook that he wrote EVERYTHING in when he in the studio over a year doing the songs, it never ends...Won't bother telling you about all the great stuff, buy it if you haven't got it!! BTW, his creativity is what shines though the whole project, inspiring to say the least! Wonder why Paul never came across The Boss?! Anyone have any clue? IT would be a fantastic thing IF that ever would occur!!
-
Oliver, Fun hearing about your creative projects, so much different stuff going on! I have tons of recorded demo tracks that I never get around to do anything with...but good idea to make a list and get people to wish, perhaps could force me to do something!
21st Century Paul:
-"Rock and roll Space/Fun Tonight", kind of Space rock and roll. Kind of like a mix of ELO and Status Quo with Little Richard at the end...
Sounds like lots going on in this one, so when can we hear it!!?
-
Anyhow, I actually did something the other day! I haven't touched my piano for a while, maybe rehearsing 2000 times Christmas songs at school with the kids has taken away some of my natural lust for it : ...But a nice winter holiday is good for finding lost creativity... So, late last night I switched my keyboard on again, set it for some B3 organ sound on my right, and played bass and a jazz drum sound with my left hand. I connected my portable Olympus recorder and in a minute I just did a short thing, and after that quickly added two guitars...SO, this became a track... BUT it's not a song, just me playing, I didn't use my regular stuff, no metronome or have a song structure to begin with... Yikes, is this me talking!!? (Am I crazy even letting anyone hear this!?!?) Anyhow, it was so short, so I just copied and pasted it twice , so here you go... 2.28 minutes of Bjorn in a sort of Pink Floyd/Dire Straits mode... IT's not going to be linked here for long, I might even take it away before you have had the time to listen!! CHILLED http://rapidshare.com/files/440086998/Chilled.mp3

They embraced each other in that Let It Be performance so I think they are not so distant. recording 70 songs for an album? now that's recording a lot of songs

for me, talking about the songs it's kind of way of get them out a bit, I think... It makes me imagine them out... I don't have a clue of when I'll finish. I'm very fast with covers but very slow with my compositions.

about the "Little Richard" part at the end... not so long ago I watched Queen in a youtube videos doing a medley of rock and roll classics... and Freddie started to sing virtually the same "I" composed for the end... That's the trouble with old time rock and roll, it's all too similar. What's the name of the song? 6.20 "rock and roll tonight..." similar to "have some fun tonight" in Long Tall Sally and even more similar to "my" thing if not the same...
I think I have to get rid of the ending -
I've checked where I wrote that song, and no it's not the same, almost but not, just like all the Little Richard songs sound similar. I've decided what to do about my songs. I'm gonna record simple ones, not the complex ones. The complex need ten times more work than the simple... and they're harder to get, one needs many listens. Talking about Queen... I think I'd better record We Will Rock You-like than Bohemian Rhapsody-like.

You really know how to make this place a party, even when you're the only guest, Ollie.

That sounds like a line for a song. Well, I've seen that many musicians are using a tool from Reverbnation called FanReach, is about how to keep in touch with everybody that likes your music. You can tell the people when you have uploaded some new stuff, so they don't have to check in your website, youtube channel, etc. It kinds of looks profesional. There's a place for "press opinions", and there I'll put Sam Leach's comment and the Meat Free Monday's comment. I don't have quantity of opinions but I have quality ones... The original Beatles (and almost Queen too) promoter and Paul's campaign.

I've finally found a song that both Paul McCartney and Freddie Mercury have sung. Luciiiiiiiiiiille (it's hard to tell who gets crazier, if Paul or Freddie!)

and, if you know me, I couldn't resist, I've just done an spontaneous impossible trio, so fun. I'm not even sure of the lyrics I've sung, I think Freddie sings "Lucille, you don't do your Daddy's will, I'm talking to you baby, I love you still" and I have repeated that most of the time. the Music is on the supernova thread.
-
well, as there is nothing happening here now... "Everybody rock'n'roll!" (that's Roger Taylor, Queen's drummer) Queen and Paul's Rockestra and Me-Lucille (live!) Or like Dylan said in that Like A Rolling Stone performance... "Play it ***** ( self-censored) loud!"

I've taken a look at Reverbnation and... there are more than a MILION musical artists registered. Are we going nuts? I mean one milion bands or so over the world, and they are only the ones on Reverbnation...
-
yet another Paul's official contest. No music this time. A recipe contest, in the news section. Though at the very end he says something about "a song". : "we know you're great, we know you're creative, send it in ***** a song with your ideas, a winner!"

Operacion Triunfo, the mother of all these kind of shows (Pop Idol, American Idol, etc) has begun again... it's not that I like it but I'm always curious to see how they do rock and roll classics. And I guess I'll post the ones they'll do. I'm not sure what thread this belongs... The Final Countdown
Bohemian Rhapsody (15 seconds)
