Any Doors fans here? I love their music and even met John Densmore at a book signing for the Doors Unhinged.

I agree with you. That was my favorite song of the Doors at one time and I agree with that song. Now Waiting For the sun is my favorite Doors song.

Lots of classic rock from The Doors. I agree that L.A. Woman is a great album, along with their fantastic debut, with great tracks like Break On Through and Light My Fire. I also love Roadhouse Blues and the gritty, bluesy Morrison Hotel album. My favorite out-of-print compilation of theirs is the double vinyl Weird Scenes Inside the Goldmine.

One of my favourite bands. All of them were so talented and I've never heard another band like them before or since. I think my favourite album is probably Strange Days.

I like a lot of songs but I can't hear complete albums. People are strange, My eyes have seen you, Love her madly, Unhappy girl, and my favorite, Alabama song. Jim and Ray are awesome. Well, they were

BeatlesfanRandy than ks for not writing something nasty on here and I'm glad you like this thread. I love LA Woman too. Wasn't Maggie MCGill on Morrison Hotel? One song I like is The Wasp(Texas Radio and The Big Beat) also. THe Crystal Ship is a great song too.

I consider The Doors one of the great bands ever. With Jim Morrison and his poetic words in front and the band/music, the organ... there is something unique and quite magical to their sound and short but intense period of making records and stage performances. The 60s.... The Beatles, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix... it's almost unreal, so much greatness all at once.

Agreed: A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon, Couples naked race down by its quiet side And we laugh like soft, mad children Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy.

I'd love to know what John Densmore was like. Such a sad day when he died.

Jim Morrison died in 1971, and Ray Manzarek in 2013. I believe John Densmore and Robbie Kriger is still alive.

You're right of course. Getting the names mixed up; but Ray Manzerek was such a talent.

Yes he had a distinctive sound, I think of The Doors and I hear his organ playing in my head.

Yes John Densmore is still alive and so is Robby Krieger. as I mentioned I met John at a book signing back in September. I wish Jim were still alive. It would be neat to see if he'd still be performing at 71 years old.
