Motorhead announce the release of Bad Magic Written and recorded in the studio together, for the first time in the Kilmister/Campbell/Dee era, the more "live" approach to creating 'Bad Magic' has obviously paid dividends in this regard. There is the driving malevolence of 'Choking On Your Screams', with Lemmy in magnificently omnipotent vocal mood, 'Electricity' which carries a hefty chunk of punk attitude married with some of Phil Campbell's best lead work in years, while 'Shoot Out All of Your Lights' is all devilish, greasy biker-borne-screw-you-and yours, Mikkey Dee's tribal drums pounding out a great path for more Kilmister proclamations. The boys even enjoyed a guest appearance from Queen's Brian May on 'The Devil', adding a scintillating solo on this thunderous Motörstomper. Add to all of this a wonderfully executed, gritty delivery of The Rolling Stones classic 'Sympathy For The Devil', and it will be clear to anyone with a pair of ears that 'Bad Magic' is Motörhead's finest work in over two decades. Produced at NRG Studios with long-time producer Cameron Webb, Bad Magic came together after a couple of years which saw Motörhead enjoy their most successful international era in over two decades off the back of their last release, 'Aftershock'. 'Bad Magic' Tracklisting: Victory Or Die Thunder And Lightning Fire Storm Hotel Shoot Out All Of Your Lights The Devil Electricity Evil Eye Teach Them How To Bleed Till The End Tell Me Who To Kill Choking On Your Screams When The Sky Comes Looking For You Sympathy For The Devil (The Rolling Stones cover)

VIDEO FOOTAGE OF DAVE GROHL'S BROKEN LEG INCIDENT NOW ONLINE The story of the weekend was that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl took a tumble at a show in Sweden on Friday night, broke his leg, had it tended to backstage, then returned to complete the show from a chair with his foot on a monitor being attended to by a medic. http://www.metaltalk.net/news2015sg/2015214.php Not a fan of the band myself but it's a shame if they pull the Wembley, Murrayfield and Glastonbury gigs because of his injury.

RITCHIE BLACKMORE TO RETURN TO ROCK WITH DEEP PURPLE/RAINBOW SHOWS IN JUNE 2016 Former Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has confirmed in an interview with a French newspaper that he is going to play rock again. Blackmore told Le Parisien: "Just for a few days, next June. But for now, I'm not decided on the persons I want to work with. I've got a good idea about the ideal candidates, but it wouldn't be fair to say anything now. I will know exactly in one month who I want to have in this band to play Deep Purple and Rainbow songs. We will probably play three or four shows in June; that's all." Source: http://www.metaltalk.net/news2015sg/2015230.php

PHIL RUDD SENTENCED IN NEW ZEALAND FOR THREATENING TO KILL AND DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES AC/DC drummer (or should that be former drummer?) Phil Rudd has been sentenced in New Zealand to eight months of home detention after he pleaded guilty to threatening to kill a man who used to work for him, along with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The 61-year-old was sentenced in Tauranga district court on New Zealand's North Island today (Thursday 9th July). He was facing up to seven years in prison for the threatening to kill charge. Rudd pleaded guilty to the charges in April, acknowledging in a court summary of facts that he had offered large amounts of cash, vehicles and a house to an associate after asking him to have the victim "taken out". He also acknowledged that he had directly said to the victim that he was going to kill him. Source: http://www.metaltalk.net/news2015sg/2015233.php

The 61-year-old was arrested at his Tauranga, New Zealand home on Saturday night and is being held in custody. He is set to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow (Monday) morning. AC/DC DRUMMER PHIL RUDD BAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN IN TWO WEEKS AC/DC drummer/former drummer Phil Rudd appeared in court this morning accused of consuming alcohol in breach of his home detention sentence. Rudd, who was arrested on Saturday, made no plea and will appear again at the New Zealand court in two weeks. Earlier this month Rudd, 61, was sentenced to eight months in house detention for drug possession and making threats to kill. He is not taking part in AC/DC's current world tour. After his latest arrest, Rudd must undergo drug and alcohol testing when required. Wearing a leather jacket bearing the AC/DC name, Phil raised his middle finger at waiting media as he left Tauranga District Court this morning. After refusing to comment on his alleged breaching of home detention conditions, by possessing and consuming alcohol, an under-pressure Rudd appeared to lose his temper at an assistant amid the media throng, demanding he give him the keys to his waiting Jaguar F-Type. 31 years ago today (21st July 1984), (the mighty) Status Quo played the final date of their 'End of the Road' tour which effectively saw the band stopping touring. The did, of course reform for Live Aid almost a year to the day (13th July 1985) and then brought Jeff Rich (drums) and John 'Rhino' Edwards (bass guitar) to replace Pete Kircher and Alan Lancaster respectively as they started to tour again with dates in Abu Dhabi, Greece, Hungary and Yugoslavia before supporting Queen on their 'It's A Kind Of Magic UK Summer Tour 1986. MÖTORHEAD ANNOUNCE UK TOUR WITH SAXON AND GIRLSCHOOL Motörhead have announced a five date UK tour for January 2016 with Saxon and Girlschool. This year is Motörhead's 40th anniversary and a big world tour was always planned but Lemmy's road warriors have broken with tradition here by not playing the UK in November, as they have done for many years now. The European tour starts in Paris on November 15th and continues through to December 6th then resumes in the UK on January 23rd taking in dates in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Swindon and London's Hammersmith Odeon. It's really called the Eventim Apollo but if you were around when Motörhead released 'No Sleep 'Till Hammersmith', you will totally understand why we insist on still calling it Hammy O.
