Rumour has it that Iron Maiden's Ed Force One jet is too heavy to land at Dortmund Airport and may have to be diverted to Dusseldorf Airport instead. For the bands appearance at the Rock Im Revier Festival near Dortmund on 27th May, the band and equipment may have to travel between the airport and venue by road instead.

Iron Maiden kick off 'Book of Souls' World Tour with an incredibly disappointing set list: Caution: Contains Full Set List http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/review-iron-maiden-kicks-off-the-book-of-souls-tour-in-fort-lauderdale-video/
Just curious why you think that setlist is 'incredibly' disappointing? What things were you expecting on a new album tour? Don't take my questions the wrong way. I'm just wondering the setlist expectation you had going into this tour.

Six songs from the (lacklustre) new album that takes up fifty minutes of their stage time - that's a lot. It reminds me of the awful 'AMOLAD' tour where they played the whole album. I know people might be going to see them for the first time but they don't seem to have put much thought into their set list - 'FOTD' and 'BB' again? Knowing Maiden, this won't change now until the end of the tour. Oh and ending on 'Wasted Years'? It's a great song but a very odd one to close with. More a whimper than a bang at the end of the set..

Fair enough. They play a lot of new songs on their album tours; 2010 with The Final Frontier and especially in 2006 with AMOLAD. I appreciate bands like Iron Maiden's caliper playing new songs they've just released; especially a double album. Maybe they are on the far end spectrum for the quantity of new stuff as compared to Megadeth playing one or two new songs. Don't worry - Maiden usually comes back two years after an album tour and does a throw back tour of hits and deeper cuts. So 2018 may be the tour for you.

Having seen the band live over twenty odd times over the years, I think my days of going to see them are probably over. I really didn't enjoy the FF tour and the current album isn't really one that I'm "getting", but I've had many good night's seeing them live so it's not all negative.

'They wanted to protect their legacy!' Sacha Baron Cohen reveals he quit the Queen biopic after surviving members tried to tone down tales of Freddie Mercury's wild life The stories of his life are infamous and some of the greatest and most debaucherous ever to come out of rock n' roll - but his bandmates decided it is best some go untold. Sacha Baron Cohen has revealed not being able to tell the wild side of Freddie Mercury led to him quitting Queen biopic. The 44-year-old told Howard Stern on the shock jock's SiriusXM program on Tuesday that after dedicating six years to the project, he walked away as he wanted to tell the iconic singer's full story - parties, drugs, sex and all. 'There are amazing stories about Freddie Mercury. Crazy! The guy was wild, he was living an extreme lifestyle... debauchery. There are stories about little people with plates with cocaine on their heads walking around parties?' he told Stern who quizzed him about the failed project. Sacha had been brought on by the surviving members of Queen to tell their story both before and after charismatic frontman Freddie died of AIDS-related complications in 1991, (but) at least one member of the band, if not all, wanted something a little more PG than the Borat star had been envisaging. IRON MAIDEN'S ED FORCE ONE SERIOUSLY DAMAGED AT SANTIAGO AIRPORT Iron Maiden are currently on 'The Book Of Souls' World Tour with Bruce Dickinson piloting the band's 747, Ed Force One, until an accident on the ground at the airport at Santiago, Chile yesterday while refuelling has temporarily halted the plane's progress. A statement on the band's website declared: "Ed Force One was this morning tethered to a tow truck to be taken for refuelling prior to flying over the Andes to Cordoba for the next show. On moving the steering pin that is part of the mechanism that connects the ground tug to the aircraft seemingly fell out. On making a turn the aircraft had no steering and collided with the ground tug badly damaging the undercarriage, two of the aircrafts engines and injuring two ground tug operators, both of whom have been taken to hospital. "We hope of course that they make a full and speedy recovery and we will be closely monitoring their progress. The flight engineers are on site and evaluating the damage, but their initial report is that the engines have suffered large damage and will require an extended period of maintenance and possibly two new engines. Has Brian Johnson Been ?Kicked to the Kerb? by AC/DC? Brian Johnson?s hearing loss may not be as bad as initial reports suggested ? but AC/DC might be moving on without him anyway. Word of Johnson?s reportedly tenuous future with the band comes courtesy of comedian Jim Breuer, a friend of the singer who discussed their latest visit during an episode of his The Metal in Me podcast, which you can stream below. According to Breuer, whose commentary was earlier reported by the Canton Repository, Johnson has essentially been ?kicked to the curb? by group leader Angus Young after fronting AC/DC for 36 years. Describing Johnson as ?really depressed,? Breuer said he got the singer?s side of the story during a visit to his home in Florida. Although Breuer repeatedly stressed that he?s only heard Johnson?s version of events, he came away with a picture of an inner dynamic that sounds surprisingly dysfunctional for a band that?s managed to stay together this long. As Breuer tells it, Johnson sought a second opinion after being warned that he faced total hearing loss if he continued to tour, and was told that the damage wasn?t actually as bad as he?d initially been led to believe. It was apparently too little, too late for Young, however ? the next thing Johnson knew, ?all his luggage that he ever toured with showed up in his driveway.? Adding insult to injury, Breuer said Johnson told him that ?there?s been no calls? from anyone in the band ? either to explain their decision or to simply check on his well-being ? and said ?I feel like I?ve been kicked to the curb.? It now seems like Jim Breuer was making a lot of it up as he's since posted a series of follow-up comments on Facebook: ?I definitely exaggerate and sometimes I get a little carried away!! And this was one of those times!? In the second, posted a few hours later, he said, ?All Brian said was ?I feel down & want to finish the job and hope it happens!? The rest was ME GOING OFF.? Then, in a video, Breuer further added, ?I?m not quoting Brian Johnson. It?s me venting. He didn?t say a lot of those things...." STATUS QUO ANNOUNCE 'LAST OF THE ELECTRICS TOUR' DATES Status Quo are pleased to announce The Last Night of The Electrics 2016 dates, which mark the band's final electric tour. Commented front man Francis Rossi said, "We've talked about it for some time and have decided that it's time for us to hang up the electrics. It's getting harder and harder for us to play those shows. It's 30 years since we last said we were stopping but this is a final decision. It doesn't mean we won't do other things, perhaps the odd special, but we're agreed that the moment has come. There's more to come from us in the years ahead, but we won't tour the electric set ever again". Status Quo will plug back in and bring their thunderous electric live show back to the nation's venues for the last time. There's too many rumours going around for there not to be some truth in this story. Seems like no-one is keen for him to front the band for even a one-off gig.

Motorhead's Final Munich Shows To Be Released On CD, DVD And Blu-Ray In May They were the Kings of the Road. They lived on it. They loved it and the fans loved them! Never was the spirit of Motörhead more alive than when they were on tour, shake, rattle and rolling audiences to within an inch of their lives thanks to that indomitable cocktail of power, purpose and head-crunching volume. In fact, after four decades of bone-pulverizing duty, Motörhead were still enjoying sold-out gigs worldwide. On November 20th and 21st 2015, at the Zenith in Munich, Germany, UDR Records made the decision to record what happened to be the very last live shows ever recorded and Motörhead proceeded to deliver two storming sold out shows. Where there had once been almost too-fast breakneck pace, there was measured yet still thunderous rock n' roll served up only as they could, Phil Campbell playing better and better and Mikkey Dee elevating the art of drumming to the superlative heights which made him one of metal's most coveted skinsmen. 'Clean Your Clock' will be released on May 27th 2016. Meanwhile, Phil Campbell releases his first single as a solo artist this Friday, 1st Aptil 2016 and we'll have full details on the day.
