Ritchie Blackmore has confirmed his only UK show playing the Deep Purple/Rainbow set will be at the Genting Arena in Birmingham on 25th June 2016. Source: http://www.metaltalk.net/news2015l/2015424.php I'm assuming one of these shows will make it onto an official DVD/BluRay before the end of 2016

Universal Music will release a 12-inch vinyl of Queen?s classic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' later this month. This 40th anniversary of the release was 31st October 2015, and this will be the first time the song has been available on 12-inch vinyl, although a similar twelve-inch is featured in the super deluxe edition of the A Night at the Odeon which is slated for release a week earlier. The key difference is that the B-side to this standalone twelve-inch is I?m In Love With My Car, whereas the record in the box set features a previously unreleased soundcheck of Now I?m Here on its flipside. The release date for the 12" version is Friday 27th November 2015, and can be pre-ordered from Amazon (UK) now.

Neil Peart reflects on 50 years of hitting things with sticks as he announces his retirement ...Lately Olivia has been introducing me to new friends at school as "my dad ? he's a retired drummer." True to say ? funny to hear... ...Now after fifty years of devotion to hitting things with sticks, I feel proud, grateful and satisfied. The reality is that my style of drumming is largely an athletic undertaking, and it does not pain me to realize that, like all athletes, there comes a time to ... take yourself out of the game. I would much rather set it aside than face the predicament described in our song "Losing It." (From 1982 it was performed live for the first time on our fortieth anniversary tour, R40, in 2015). In the song's two verses, an aging dancer and a writer face their diminishing, twilight talents with pain and despair, ("Sadder still to watch it die, that never to have known it.") Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee has shot down reports that the band's drummer, Neil Peart, has retired: Lee told U.K.'s Prog magazine: "There's really nothing to say. I think Neil is just explaining his reasons for not wanting to tour, with the toll that it's taking on his body. That's all I would care to comment on it. We'll get together eventually and chat about things. But in my view, there is certainly nothing surprising in what he said. Neil just feels that he has to explain with all the thousands of people asking, 'Why no more tours?' He needs to explain his side of it." Asked whether he feels Peart's quote was taken out of context, Lee said: "I think that's absolutely right. That's their job. Talking about something when there's nothing to talk about."
