It's interesting how the typical song length has changed down the years. It's pretty interesting to note how few Beatles tracks go over 5 minutes. There are only six, I think: Revolution 9 (8:22) I Want You (She's So Heavy) (7:47) Hey Jude (7:09) It's All Too Much (6:2 A Day In The Life (5:0 Within You Without You (5:04) Gradually over time the expected running time of a song got longer and longer. The Beatles were just amazing with their 2-minute masterpieces. I made a compilation CD I quite like of some of these, managing to cram 40 tracks onto a CD! Many tracks are well under 2 minutes, and it's true a couple are under 1 minute and are basically filler, but the other 38 are fully-formed SONGS! The longest tracks are 2:20 long, and it's certainly a good listen! "It Won't Be Long" 1. It Won't Be Long 2. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away 3. Lady Madonna 4. I'll Cry Instead 5. Why Don't We Do It In The Road? 6. And Your Bird Can Sing 7. I Feel Fine 8. From Me To You 9. For No One 10. Do You Want To Know A Secret 11. I'm Happy Just To Dance With You 12. I'm So Tired 13. I'll Follow The Sun 14. Long Tall Sally 15. Please Please Me 16. Baby's In Black 17. Help! 18. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) 19. Piggies 20. I've Just Seen A Face 21. Eleanor Rigby 22. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (reprise) 23. All Together Now 24. Good Day Sunshine 25. Maggie Mae 26. Yesterday 27. All My Loving 28. Glass Onion 29. Can't Buy Me Love 30. Blackbird 31. Any Time At All 32. Wait 33. We Can Work It Out 34. Flying 35. No Reply 36. Her Majesty 37. I Will 38. Golden Slumbers 39. Carry That Weight 40. The End

i cant undestand why pink floyd is so famous band, they are pretty average for me and their songs have always long duration!
I'm not a huge Floyd fan, but i do own Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, and they are in the top ten bands of all time. I would never say they were average, despite not being a real Floyd acolyte. It's like calling the Beatles average to be honest. They're not as average as the Bee Gees. Just pulling your leg herc.
i prefer the bee gees!(the best band after the beatles)the only pink floyd song i really like is another brick in the wall
If you only like Another Brick in The Wall Pt. II then you just don't get it. That was their only disco hit. You obviously don't like great music. There is a good reason that Dark Side of the Moon was on the Album Charts for 14 years! And still sells huge quantities to this day. You should check it out. The whole album I mean.

You're comparing apples and oranges. PF aren't really about ballads, but I guess you count 'Wish you were here' which is one of their best songs (Just listen to the lyrics). The story behind it is so personal and emotional, referring to former band member Syd Barrett who became ill. Pink Floyds music isn't for 'grooving'/dancing. Ask anyone about the best bass -lines and 'Money' is bound to come up. It's an absolutely killer bass-line.

I agree with you, although I might not have been as insulting in my reply...
