May have found my first concert for 2013! Buddy Guy & George Thorougood (sp?)! The show isn't until August, and there's no word on ticket sales yet. BUt the top seat is only $50 and it is at my FAVORITE venue in the state of Maryland! Pier Six Pavilion! Buddy was phenomenal this past summer, and I'd love to see George T. once!

I thought I had my first show for next year lined up Paul Di'Anno was supposed to do a short US tour in Dec-Jan but they just postponed it until later in the year. There are a ton of shows in Europe next year that I would love to see, so I would bet I will be making the trip over at some point next year. Jewel just announced a greatest hits tour and she is playing some local shows (local for me) I wouldn't mind seeing her again (last time was 1997) but that will be a decision for once the shows get closer and I see what else is in the works. Cat Stevens \ Yusuf announced that he will tour next year , I am hoping for some North American dates, I have never seen him and I would really like to.

Bruce Springsteen. I do like Cat Stevens, wonder what songs he will be performing.

Saw Leonard Cohen here in NY last night - I freely confess I'm not the most knowledgeable re his catalog (bar "Suzanne" and "Hallelujah" of course) but he was simply great, and had a crack band with him to boot. It's been really interesting seeing so many older artists within the last three months or so - Springsteen, The Who, The Stones, Neil Young, Dylan and now Cohen - they all have their own distinct musical styles of course, but also very distinct as "performers" and how they engage with their fellow musicians as well as with the audience. LC was a really interesting example as he rarely looks directly at his audience or engages with them during songs - say versus a Mick Jagger - *but* still somehow connects through his stage persona, and is by far the most gracious performer I've ever seen, gazing at his musicians during solo turns and then acknowledging them by name afterward. Quite remarkable really. Anyhoo - no shows for a little bit but 2013 already sees tickets to Sigur Ros up in Toronto in March, Fleetwood Mac and the Crossroads Guitar Festival in April, and Bettye LaVette in May. Would obviously love to add Macca to that list if he's interested!
-
I think Leonard Cohen is fantastic but I haven't had the chance to see him live, he usually plays London when he comes to the UK which is quite a distance away from me.

My boss lives close to the place in MD where you saw the Beach Boys, I was toying around with going to that show but in the end it didn't come together. Some awesome shows, keep up the good work!!!

Killer stuff!! the thing that really sticks out is that the one show you really travelled to is the guy who plays a ton of local shows (assuming you are from NYC area) seeing Bruce in Pitts must have been fun.

Next to Paul, that was the best show of the year for me! We did the Meet-n-Greet package, which included great merch, soundcheck access, meet-n-greet with the boys and, our seats were 2nd row dead center!

My gigs this year were (can't remember actual dates): Feb: Rammstein x 2 (London 02 & Nottingham arenas) March: Korn Brixton Academy Paul Mccartney Royal Albert Hall July Marilyn Manosn Brixton Academy (Lacuna Coil supported, also good) November Twins of Evil: Marilyn Manson & Rob Zombie London 02 arena December Alexisonfire Brixton academy (farewell show - was a free gig with my team leader from work!) Stone Sour with Papa Roach as support Brixton Acadmy x 2 nights 2012 was a brilliant year for me gig wise, all of the above gigs ranged from brilliant to amazing! None were what could be said as "average". This makes me feel good and hope that it continues into 2013!
-
2012 was the best year for gigs. Having a Macca Christmas show would have been even better, though. I saw: Paul McCartney Elvis Costello Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Queen + Adam Lambert A whole heap of theatre and comedy gigs, too. And the Olympics, too, but I don't think that counts in this thread.

as for me in 2012 started jan 1st 2012 with Guns n roses
How was Axl? I saw the remains of Guns n Roses back in 1992 at Giants Stadium, it was the Metallica \ Guns n Roses tour. Guns was down to Axl, Slash and Duff from the original lineup. That was a really good show (by both groups) and Guns actually made it through their whole set that night.
