I'll go along with what Cmacks has told you, one album you should get tho is "Concert in Central Park" excellanto Simon & Garfunkel, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Central Park
A Stupendous version of BOTW....Great concert too.

Btw, if anyone is looking for this, it's extremely difficult to find in stores anymore (I think it's discontinued)...but I found it the other day on Amazon for 20.00 new (they had used but I don't recall the price)...I passed on that because Barnes and Noble on line had it for just under 13.00 new and I opted for that one instead.

Exactly how I feel about this version...I wonder if that'll change based on my own past precedent...for the longest time I thought Paul McCartney/Wings' WOA version of Maybe I'm Amazed blew away the studio version from 1970...but over time, I've sort of gravitated back to the studio version

Btw, I don't know why - but I feel compelled to add a couple of Paul Simon and various Beatles related moments:
(of course George and Paul Simon had a few performances together, but I like this one:-)) (Paul Simon doing another wonder version of Here Comes The Sun) Ringo was the only former Beatle who I couldn't find a public performance or recording together with Paul Simon - does anyone know if one exists?I didn't realize Paul and Paul had performed together. ops: Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

I thought that during the same performance, the duo also performed a Paul Simon song together as well...but I couldn't find a video of that, so I may be mistaking

I'm a fan of all of their albums, to be honest. They're like Paul's solo work: some good ones, some turkeys, but on even the weakest album, there are some gems. And quite frankly I'd rather listen to their worst album than the "best" album of some Top 40 artist these days...

Bridge Over Troubled Water is by far and away their masterpiece IMO. A phenomenal album from start to finish. Sounds of Silence & Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme. I like both these albums a lot but a bit too patchy to be considered in the same league as BOTW. Oh and Graceland is a great album!

Wow--the same benefit (not the same year) that Paul and Brian Wilson performed together for. Also a classic performance, by the way. Two geniuses performing together, in both cases.

My top10 Simon & Garfunkel-songs:
-
Got the 40th Anniversary edition of Bridge Over Troubled Water and it's a doozy, with an extra DVD of the making of the album, and an hour long special called Songs of America which aired in 1969 and hasn't been seen since. Awesome, with long lost concert footage and their thoughts about the war and Woodstock. Little known fact about Paul and Art, they were together as partners as long as Lennon and McCartney...1957 to 1970.

The Boxer is an underrated masterpiece.
-
I don't think it's underrated, but it's a masterpiece.

It's underrated in that it's totally overshadowed by Bridge Over Troubled Water being on the same album.

I still don't think it's underrated and also not overshadowed by BOTW. At least, here in Germany I hear The Boxer on the radio as often as BOTW.

Simon and Garfunkel are my favourite artisits after The Beatles of course! Paul Simon's solo career is really good as well, I got Graceland on vinyl for my birthday and it's just a superb album. Also The Graduate is my favourite movie and made me love Simon and Garfunkel even more, the way the scenes fit with the music is amazing!

Art Garfunkel's favorite song of all time is "Here, There and Everywhere" by the Beatles.
