Sting and Paul Simon to Tour Together

Sting and Paul Simon, "neighbors for 20 years" according to Sting, only recently discovered they can sing well together, he said. They plan to put on joint concerts, singing both together and separately. Instead of Simon and Garfunkel, it'll be "Simon and Sting." (With Sting's huge ego, it might be "Sting and Simon.") Excited by this prospect? This news made me realize just how "big" Paul McCartney always was, and remains. I'd jump for joy over the moon totally transported by the thought of seeing him in concert again. After hearing about Sting and Simon, I felt nothing at all. No overwhelming desire to attend their concert. Ouch
And I sure adored many of Simon's songs, and a few of Sting's

This will be my second time seeing Sting in a year and first time seeing Paul Simon, can't wait! 
Sting was a lot of fun when I saw him this past summer, didn't show a huge ego or anything, put on a wonderful show. -
Please tell what it was like after you go. I don't understand why I didn't get all thrilled at the thought of seeing this concert, but I didn't. Nothing compared to a Paul Mc. show. Not even those two. To be honest I somehow don't fancy Simon's singing as much as formerly. Too sharp and shrill or something. I'd love to hear a really good singer sing some of his stuff. I saw Sting perform on t.v. recently--he doesn't sound like he used to, not that he was a fantastic singer, he never was.

Not to be a Sting basher, but a big turn-off about him is how puffed up and egotistical he always was just because he could write songs (and was a big rock star). Big headed. A lot of people can get melodies in their heads sometimes and pen lyrics to go with the tunes. Or sometimes the lyrics come first... sometimes just lyrics...anyway it's nothing to get in a narcissistic frenzy over, as if you're the only one--Neil Diamond is another who always seemed overly proud of his ability to write songs, and his aren't even nearly as good as some of Sting's. Anyway music fans here don't seem terribly excited about Simon and Sting touring together
It's a shame. I'm not either

It's a shame. I'm not either Yes, because Paul has never talked about his songs or his song writing abilities or how "Yesterday" just popped into his head in a dream. All big musicians/ celebrities have egos, they wouldn't have gotten where they are today if they didn't have even a little bit of an ego.

I know...watching some of the American Music Awards show tonight, Katy Perry opened looking like a Geisha with Japanese trappings in the set design, and her vocals sounded sort of creepy and the song a bit creepy but she has to think she sings real good and the song is good, to be able to get out there. Taylor Swift paraded around trying to look all slinky and sexy. But didn't look sexy. She has to think she can sing, even though she can't. The "One Direction" song that band sang didn't sound bad, but it isn't cool to just be a boy band who doesn't play instruments, but they have to think they're cool to be able to go on stage and perform. (Of course all these have received considerable fan feedback and success to really believe they're fantastically talented.) So boring to see Justin Timberlake bounding up there to get his award. "Imagine Dragon" won for Best Alternative. Rhianna won, that was boring. I kept thinking where's Paul Mc. with acclaim with "New," but it's called the American Music Awards but why was 'One Direction' on this show, they're Brits, aren't they?

I saw little of the AMA show last night, but did catch Ariana Grande's performance. She sings well. She won "Best New Artist of the Year." I read that Lady Gaga and R. Kelly put on a real good song and dance number.

Yes I can't wait! We were barely able to get tickets, it sold out so quickly for the concert here, but I'm thankful I will get to see them, even from way up high. I've never seen Paul Simon live before so this will be a big treat. Maybe they'll take it internationally for you.

So many of Simon's songs are amazing, and a certain number of Sting's--I'll probably get back into Simon's stuff intensely again someday. Shame but I have his new cd and haven't even listened to it yet
I've had it a right long time, too ops: And I haven't even listened to his "Graceland" follow-up, "The Rhythm of the Saints," which is so old I have it on cassette. Sting's voice sounded rough when he was on telly the other day 
Right now I want to hear the "New" album and Coldplay's last album

Katy Perry's song "Unconditionally" IS good, really good, I realized tonight after Tessane sang it on "The Voice." That's what Perry sang as a geisha, I think, on the AMA show. I've rambled and got off topic but this is my thread, so I thought it might be permissible?
