Sam I din't know tv was invented in England. I'm learning something new today. Who invented it and in what year? I have never heard of the remote transmission maybe you can suggest it to people down here and they will start doing it. Heh Heh! What I meant by John and Paul doing characters in Grease was which one of them reminded you of John and Paul? I know that Paul owns a catalog of songs to Grease. I wonder what he thinks of Happy Days? I never heard his opinion on that show or John's when he was alive. In Happy Dyas they didn't mention the beatles even in the later episodes or Elvis. I'm surprised. They were real popular in the time period the show takes place.

Hi Giri (Paulfan). I'll check out the TV details and get back to you. Maybe Happy Days weren't allowed to mention Elvis and The Beatles. I watched that every episode and I have a feeling it was set before The Beatles. Anyone else know ?? Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Giri (Paulfan) The actual idea of TV was invented by Farnsworth in 1923 for RCA in San Francisco...but what I really meant was we developed it to a higher standard via BBC. I'll get some more details and get back tomorrow. Cheers. Sam.

Ive read your postys ... and have voted on the new link you provided... how is this going to get your site noticed on the web?.... by the way a fan posted yesterday that they sent Paul a birthday prezzie & it was returned to them!!!~ Man now I cant send Paul & Heather the baby prezzie?.... ops: hugs Sam....

~ Sam do you know what happened today in music history???????

Hi Christina (Harleyblues). We've won that `Top 100' sites 12 times from 14. We don't need them anymore. They're rigging the voting as I proved in the ealier post on this thread. www.beatlelinks.com is a much better site and better ran. We're in 6th place out of 2000 sites...not a 100. The only ones above us are from the Tribute bands. Paul is very hard to get things to through his people as I've said before. Patience is needed. Thanks for the support...it's appreciated as you know. Love and hugs. Sam.

ohhhh now I cant send the the baby present? do you know what today is?.......

Hi Christina That link should have been this one. http//www.beatlelinks.net/cgi-bin/links/review.cgi?ID=1782 Ringo's birthday !! Love and hugs. Sam.

Hi Harley, Sam, Paulfan and everyone - hope everyone is doing fine today? Paulfan- Most of Happy Days was based in the '50's pre-Beatles world. Not sure of a specific Elvis mention but there was an episode where the Fonz has to sing and he sang "Heartbreak Hotel" - I remember it as the first time I ever heard this song - to my mom's horror! (She was a big Elvis fan!) As Happy Days moved into the '60's with Joanie and Chachi I know there was an episode where they thought Paul was in a local hospital or something. I can't really remember - it could have been on the spin-off show "Joanie Loves Chachi" instead of "Happy Days". In another "Happy Days" spin-off show the girls had a huge poster of the Beatles in their apt.

Nope~~~~
-
Sam- that stinks about the rigged voting. I will vote for you on Beatlelinks - even though I am not very happy with them as I was checking out various sites they have on there and some of them are actually "anti-Paul" sites! ( I can't imagine disliking someone enough to put up an "anti" site against them!) Guess its just proof of how famous Paul is!
-
Christina I thought today was July 7th...what am I like. Don't mess around...what is today famous for ? Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Hi Swaying Daisy Thanks for the info on the Fonz. I knew it was set well before the Beatles And Elvis only came into it in the latter stages...as you say. The beatlelinks site has all the sites on it so I suppose they can't stop anyone who has a site. But I will check that out and may make a few posts on these anti-Macca sites. They must be mad !! Love and hugs. Sam.

Sam, Thanks for the inof on tv. I would be sruprised if tv didn't allow them to mention Elvis and The bealtes. James Dean was mentioned in there as the Fonz was a fan of his and had a poster of him on his wall as did Richie. Bill Hlaey was mentioned int here as well as Rock Around The Clock was the theme song to that show in the beginning. Sawying Diasy what Happy Days spinoff are you talking about where the girls ahd a poster of the beatles on the wall? I ididn't see the episodes you were talking about but hopefully I will on tvland soon. I used to be a huge fan of the Fonz and Elvis back then. I was only 7 years old during the popularity of the show. I also had no idea the black leather jacket was considred threatening back in the 50s. To me they always seemed cool like everyday wear.

I meant Swaying Daisy.

Sam -- was startled when I voted for your site and your ranking was no where to be found. But, I've read your posts -- so now I understand. I really enjoyed the TV shows in Britain -- especially the one where an ex-CEO every week helps turn around family businesses. I think you have more off beat shows than we do. I know it was from the 70s but my favorite comedy of all time is Fawlty Towers. I have to confess that although the show is a little silly -- I like Bean, too. Cheers! Mike

The other thing I like about Britain is that even though Macca has been charting and selling his albums very well in the US -- with some exceptions -- he has been having a very hard time charting his singles here -- whereas in Britain he's doing much better. My Brave Face & This One -- made the top 20. If I recall Young Boy came close to the top 20. And, songs like Come On People and Only Love Remain from Press to Play had some presence. in the 80s, he had top 10 hits like Waterfalls and Once Upon A Long Ago -- which didn't chart here. American top 40 radio simply won't play an artist over 45 years old, no matter how good the music is -- it's pretty sad. Sam even your hero Bruce Springstein recently had a big selling album but couldn't move any of his singles. Macca though had a great run in the 70s and early 80s in the States. During that stretch, he was bigger here than in Britain.
-
The only downside i found in Britain -- and it was my 2nd time there -- is that things seem to be expensive compared to the States. in the US I can get a big breakfast for $2-5 -- in Britain forget it. Also, I like the fact that the US restaurants have no smoking sections whereas Britain mostly doesn't. I miss the tea & shortbread biscuits, though!
