Set lists with only post-Beatle stuff

I remembered this great thread. Here's my set and I decided to have focus recent stuff becuase it wouldn't be any problems for his voice. Otherwise I'm not sure how "Back Seat" would work but I can definitely imagine Abe helping out on the high parts. Coming Up The World Tonight Only Mama Knows Flaming Pie Highway My Brave Face Ever Present Past Lonely Road Letting Go Vintage Clothes/That Was Me Fine Line C Moon Promise To You Girl Calico Skies The Song We Were Singing This One Tug Of War With A Little Luck About You Rinse The Raindrops (Twin Freak'ish) House Of Wax 1985 Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey Silly Love Songs Helen Wheels Dance 'Til We're High The Back Seat Of My Car Mull Of Kintyre Hi Hi Hi Beautiful Night A solid set of songs I gotta say
You definitely know your McCartney. Starts out strong. Lots of classics. Plenty o' goodies for the hardcore fans. Forgotten hits. I'd add "No More Lonely Nights."
-
^^Yeah, a great setlist can't be great without Highway ^And good call on No More Lonely Nights. I'll add that one and Jr's Farm which I thought had there. (Not that these fantasy setlists matters but they're kind'a fun anyway)

at the risk of seeming to run against the tide of opinion ..since pauls '93 tour his personal overindulgence on insisting in toploading his concerts with beatles material at the expense of his solo and wings material is detrimental to all those fans who would love to hear some of this material played live .some of his songs have not been played live since the '79 tour (with a little luck, spin it on & old siam sir)while others have been ignored altogether(no more lonely nights, only love remains, pipes of peace, waterfalls ,wanderlust and take it away are just a fer that come to mind that could be performed it would be a fantasic concert if they were included somehow i doubt it though another idea i thought of was for paul to rehearse the same number of beatle songs he does now spliting the number he performs in half per concert leaving some of the standards(let it be /yesterday et al for the encore and rotating the others on a semi nightly/concert basis..in this way it would draw fans to his concerts wondering what he was going to play on a certain night, unlike now where it's a standard set list.
I agree with more solo songs, but in reality it's impossible, considering he might reduce a lot of touring. And about the changing songs, he could apply it more than just with 3 or 4 songs; but at the very least, since the Up and Coming Tour, he started changing some songs.

my set list there are loads of great song he has never played live and many others he has not played live in years I have dropped everything from the present set list to make it all fresh there are very few beatles songs here as he has already done most of the good ones on recent tours. it may not please casual fans but the hardcore fans would love this lot rockestra big barn bed coming up old siam sir about you no values my brave face no more lonley nights loveley rita accoustic set songs we were singing bluebird jenny wren somedays put it there for no one piano set pipes of peace cmon people beautifull night back seat of my car wanderlust oo you hope of deliverence vintage clothes tug of war angry stranglehold hi hi hi wildlife beware my love encore soily long tall sally 31 songs 15 never played live before 9 not played since the 1970s
Great, I don't know about a third of these songs, and I would replace those that I don't know with others like Off The Ground, Peace In The Neighbourhood, Follow Me, Biker Like An Icon, Figure of Eight, Rough Ride, Looking For Changes, Fine Line, Fixing A Hole. But I'm not saying I didn't like your list, I just would go with different songs replacing the ones I don't know or like less.

Nice, very nice set list, I'd replace some of your stuff with Off The Ground material, So Bad, Wanderlust, Not Such A Bad Boy, Ballroom Dancing, and others. And thanks for calling this a "great" thread. I checked it before the Zocalo concert, and didn't know that it had all these somments.

Oh, dear Lord, have you got some homework to do, or what? Suggestion: Instead of just listening to those songs on YouTube, I highly, highly suggest that you get the Driving Rain, Flaming Pie and Red Rose Speedway albums first. They're great songs on their own, but they should be heard in proper context to be fully appreciated. I will permit you to preview the rocker"Angry," which is on Press To Play, the album that made me a McCartney fan in '86. "Oo You" and "Old Siam Sir" are excellent rockers, too.

Looks like you need the Memory Almost Full album, too. Fortunately, I am impressed that you know Off The Ground, though.

Right, you're totally right, this thread is not about if these lists materialize, cause in fact, they never will. I founded this thread with the mere intention of express and share some set lists I thought of less than 2 years ago, and see what any user, like yourself, has to say about them, and I pleasantly have found that you've been sharing your dream lists in this thread, and that's good, cause you and the other guys have revived the thread.

I've been meaning to hear Macca material on YouTube, but sometimes I have chores, and other times I end up listening Macca' concerts, his songs I do know or some other music. In fact, right now, I'm watching a Wings concert in Australia. I just hope you don't leave me without dinner.

Oh, come on, you're exaggerating, of course I know Off The Ground, I also like Flowers, Tug of War, Pipe of Peace, and others. I once heard a bit of Flaming Pie, Driving Rain, and Memory Almost Full, and I didn't really like them. On the other hand, I love Ram, Band On The Run, Run Devil Run, Broad Street, Unplugged, and of course, the live albums.

I was going to ask the exact same thing Audi. Yes you need to get to know these...some are favorites of mine!

No exaggeration whatsoever. And now that you've listed Broadstreet, RDR and Ram as your faves, I'm even more surprised that you don't like Flaming Pie.
-
A new set list would need to be constructed in order to help his older voice during a 2 hour performance. If he needs to do Beatle stuff he may need to change the key and style to many of the classics......and we as fans need to accept that.

Audi, Liking your thinking on this one. (Doing my best Capt Picard imitation) Make it so.

You're right, I'll give Flaming Pie a shot, cause I just listened to it once, 3 years ago; same goes with Driving Rain. But I heard Memory Almost Full last year, the whole album, and I wasn't attracted to it, except of course, for Dance Tonight, Only Mama Knows, and Nod Your Head.

I can recommend the McCartney years dvd set for a great primer. Also I can really recommend Back To The Egg. To me it's the best Wings album. Also I like a few off of London Town, of course Band On the Run and Venus and Mars as well. Sorry if I may be repeating a few already mentioned.
