Take it away video, and John Hurt
-
Did Paul ever explain how he got John Hurt to be in it? And while we're here was anyone from the forum in the audience. i think i remember someone here saying about it, must've been great. I was in the fun club, but later than this (89 finally!) and they only ever seemed to ask london based people (or at least the south) not us northerners
John Hurt was at a lipa graduation a few years ago.

I was there that day but had to leave about 6pm so I didn't see John Hurt who must have been there later in the evening. Nearly 35 years on my memory is a bit hazy now of that day. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to stay longer and see John. I had no idea at the time of his involvement.

Paul and John Hurt were friends so he (Paul) and him to appear in the 'Take It Away' video. John Hurt also narrated the 'Going Home' documentary about Paul returning to play Liverpool as part of his 1989/90 World Tour.

I was at the filming and remember it well.John Hurt had his part in the audience filmed at the end of the day. After the stage shots were finished at about 7 pm we were sent outside the studio for a break and on returning all the seats had been turned to face the left hand side of the stage where the cameras had been moved. When we were seated John Hurt came in and stood in amongst us,I was sat a few seats to johns right.i can remember being distracted as a few feet to my right Paul,Linda and ringo were sat.The filming of this part finished about an hour later and the day finished at about 8.30 pm.It was a fantastic day as the band in between film takes played a number of rock and roll classics for us and to top it off in one of the film breaks I managed to meet Paul ,Linda and ringo had a few words a handshake and autographs from them.

Love the song and the video, shame Mr. McCartney never sang it live. RIP Mr. Hurt.

I am so sorry for the loss of John Hurt but that was really cool you got to be there that day.

A couple of friends of mine were also at the filming that day. They still remember it as being one of their favorite Paul experiences ever! RIP John Hurt.

Can't believe it was 35 years ago today, have seen Paul perform over 40 times since but no other occasion comes close to that experience.

Ugh, is it really that long ago? It seems like only yesterday when I drove up in my Morris Traveller and parked down a side road near the studio and hoped that I wouldn't get a ticket or that I hadn't blocked someone's access.
