Dear Paul 1st Wings Over America Show, Dallas, TX, My Apology I have been bothered for years and must say I am so very sorry for putting you and your family through a very dangerous and stupid action. Prior to the first Wings Tour you rehearsed the show in Dallas, TX at Showco. You rented a private home for your family that was kept very secret. After the 1st show in Ft.Worth we followed the caravan of limos back to Dallas. Your limo split from the group and we followed you back to your home. Our action caused your driver to make some very high speed moves. And we forced you and your family to be placed in a dangerous and disturbing situation. After what happened to Princes Diana I have thought about this many times and wanted to say how very sorry I am. Please take my very late but truly sincere apology for putting you and your family in danger. A very amazing side note is Ringo rehearsed his first All Star Band tour in Dallas, and I was his driver for a week. So I chased one Beatle and was the driver for the other. I hope you get this apology. God Bless my friend.

Hi there! I think that's not de place to post that, but I haven't seen any place better, so here it is: I'm planning to make a video for my mom's bitrhday, where people around her will have a minute to explain who he/she is and talk a bit of my mom's life. The question is if there is any chance to film Paul saying only "happy birthday to my biggest fan..." or something like that to put at the end of the video. I'm from Spain, I have been saving money to travel wherever Paul will be and have the opportunity for that. I know that Paul is very busy 'cause he is a world star and he is very requested, but with 10 seconds from his life, he can fill someone else's life! I think it goes without saying that my mom was/is a great fan of the Beatles and, of course, she is in love with Paul Please, if someone can tell me who I have to speak with or where I have to go to beg on my knees you'll be thankful for the rest of our lifes!

Dear Sir Paul, I guess that a very good thing to do can be to invite Pete Best as a guest appearance for the concert. It can make everyone feeling better, an historic meeting. Just a suggestion from a true fan who deeply respect you. Sincerely yours. Paul M

My favourite Sir; I want to share the happiness you brought to me with you I am going to be able to see you on stage when you are performing in Kiev, 14 June 2008. The thing is I am not living in Kiev nor Ukranie. I'll fly there to see you because you are, unfortunately, not coming to my country. Also, the concert you are going to have in Kiev is on the exact date of my 19th birthday! That's how I'll be able to spend my 19th birthday in the most amazing way; by watching you! When my parents decided to tell me surprise they have been planning yesterday(taking me to Kiev) I felt so overwhelmed and happy, that I couldn't stop smiling or shaking with exicitement. I can't wait to see you and stand under the same sky with you! Thank you for making me so happy! Özgecan (probably your biggest fan in where she is living )

Hello dear Paul McCartney! How are you? I'm Carlos Bill, 46 (I'll turn 47 next august 10th), I play 4 strings electric bass since I was 16 years old and have always been very, very impressed with the incredible command of the bass's whole fretboard, as well as your all-around capabilities on guitar and acoustic piano. In your charity concerts, there is the same Paul McCartney. Sincerity. Musical abandonment. I was a kid when I listened to Ram for the first time; Too Many People blew me away, it was an energetic bundle of amplified energy as I had never seen before in music, even with rock artists, rock performances, you know. I was also impressed with your more folky songs. I am still very impressed with Penny Lane; your bass lines punctuate the melodies so precisely...you are a melodist, no doubts!!! Ha...! It's like a sewing machine making its job, I mean, the metallic intonation of the notes, I guess it's because of the pick. And as a guitarist and acoustic guitar player, and as a piano player...Well, superstar. Stardom, yeah...Ooooh yeaaaahh, c'moooon, nooow, rock and roooool, John Boy!!! I like Live Or Let Die, but I, speaking of my own inspired moments in music (playing the bass, singing) normally like more introspective songs. The unknown ones are always those which provoke the bigger impact onstage, I've always insisted in this viewpoint. Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is just another masterpiece. Thanks for your music and inspiration, Macca. Please feel free to contact me. I and my wife are admirers of your style and songs. And your concert at the Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro (where we live), is forever in our memories! My best wishes, Carlos Bill, bass player, composer, journalist, music researcher.

Was elated to hear that Sir Paul was getting the divorce from Heather Mills. Just one line of advice for him. Try America again. Since Linda was so lovely and so soulful, try America for another lovely lady!! Thanks!!!

Dear Paul McCartney, I'm Carlos Bill, 46, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and play the bass since I was 16 years old. I was always very amazed with the total command of the bass fretboard; the emotional lyricism of the notes in Penny Lane have no competition. Your acoustic guitar chords and piano playing, everything. They get to dense moments, like primitive acoustic ballad music which is fascinating to see. And Too Many Notes, in the Ram record, is legendary because of the high levels of energy in this unique rock. I remember saying, in the first time I heard it, "hey, the riff is so powerful"...! I played it so loud. This is what rock meant to me, full-bodied playing ever, sophistication, intensity. I'd suggest only that you released some dvd with, not necessarily "teaching bass techniques" but, showing slightly your playing with the pick, your "swing" and "comments on the road" parts (like, "in this concert I had to use a Rickenbacker or Spector bass instead of a Hofner", stuff like that, Paul McCartney...). Sure, the persona gets sometimes more acclaimed than the bass player, guitar player or piano player. But people should no forget that Paul McCartney is the impeccable bass stylist, as he is a great player in whichever instrument he plays. (As his guitar solo in Can't Buy Me, Love). In Brazil, Paul, there are countless bass players saying, "...-but I didn't find what chord was that in that McCartney's bass in that song of Chaos And Creation in The Backyard", and so on, and so on. Finish! Your Maracanã concert in Rio is still in our memories. Hello to every Paul McCartney's fans, helloooooooo, c'mooon ev'rybodeeeeey!!!!! Oooooh yeaaaaaah!!!!! Carlos Bill, bass player, composer.

Since it's been brought up...Carlos Bill is right-on. I'd love to see an instructional DVD which concentrates on approach, as well as technique. I've often wondered why I've never seen you with a Fender bass. Did the scale length have anything to do with your choice of basses? I understand George Harrison had a Jazz Bass; I see in the photo that, since it's strung RH I'm guessing it can't be yours... Talk about rubbing it in: ...'Av a guess where I"m goin this Sunday? YEP I got 2 tickets for the MACCA gig at Liverpools ground Sunday night!!!. CHEERS FOR NOW...youv"e gone GREEN Rock on--and don't forget to rave!
-
Hi HauserPlenty, you talked about the scale length, interesting...if you played in a Fender bass before, you noticed how your left hand fingers fit so well in the low E/one octave higher A notes? (I mean, not the released low E but the E one octave higher); but some bassists like to venture more with a 22-24 frets bass, a Spector or Fodera or Carl Thompson basses for example. Les Claypool uses the Rainbow 6 strings and the 4 strings Carl Thompson's models. Paul McCartney seems to play higher notes, so a Hofner and Rickenbacker are better, they have 24 frets...(Fender basses have 20/22). Hey hold these tickets!!! If one doesn't miss a Macca concert he/she'll meet the man who helped to innovate melody and rhythm. Everybody talks on how deep are the Beatles melodies, like Revolution, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever. Some critics talk about Paul's intonation of his Hofner resembling an acoustic jazz bass, but I'm sure he never did play minding to emulate an acoustic bass. The Hofner got that intonation, that's all, simple like that. ...And what's going on in California, Hauser?! Have you seen some Macca's show there? Best wishes, let's play rock! Carlos Bill.

Great show tonight Paul!!!! Wish I had been there, but I am listening on line right now via BBC radio, which is pretty damn cool!! I sure hope you have a tour announcement for us soon!!!!
