I hope this finds you well. I also hope you find some class after your disrepectful display at the White House.
Oh, so the nuts discovered this thread as well. How nice.
*sigh*. and I came here to read something lovely about Paul after the brew-ha ha on those other threads. Paul, what lesson did you learn from all of this? I know...you'll just let it be like all the other guys do too. Oh well. I still love you. I hate Bush too but I'm better at insulting him.

Yes, Paul, an apology is in order. You were invited here to receive an award from the Library of Congress, i.e. the American people, and you proceeded to gratuitously insult a President of the United States and the over half of our population who voted for him. Imagine the outrage in Britain if an American sneered at the Queen or the PM while receiving an award from your government - - regardless of your personal feelings about the monarchy or the individual, you would be howling for weeks. "And Americans wonder why they are so hated, blah, blah, blah". Except that, Americans generally show better manners than that, but Brits don't, especially mouthy working class lads from Liverpool. Gobbling up a load of paranoid leftist nonsense from Bertrand Russell about the Vietnam War years ago doesn't make you particularly enlightened. Your hero Barack Obama is sliding quickly towards one-term oblivion, and what a relief that is. Maybe we can elect someone who will defend America and American principles, instead of apologize for them.

Cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it. If you really want to reach Paul, try writing a letter, he doesn't check this. :

ROTFL, yeah, Americans and manners. Trust me, I'm not from the US, not from the UK so I'm ''impartial", the Brits def have better manners. And class. And a better SENSE OF HUMOR!!!

Oh yeah, we're really showing how much more class and manners we have here in the US by getting on the internet and freaking out. Thank goodness most Americans have a sense of humor and realize it was a joke.

Paul, I want to apologize for all the conservatives who seem to think it's beneficial to invade your board and pi-- off your fans. They make all conservatives look bad, don't they?
-
Sir Paul, we hope you don't feel the need to apologize for your funny & accurate remark about our former president....he was and still is an embarassment and you have more class & talent in your pinky finger than he does in his entire body. Please ignore the senseless remarks from inane right-wingers that have invaded your board. I'm glad that someone of your stature has the nerve to speak the truth about Bush! We in middle America love you! See ya in Nashville: YEE HAW!!!!

[quote="harleyblues"]~ we know you musta have gotten wind, by now, of this bulls**t, demanding an apology about your joke at the White House- hahaha nicely said Paul.. **** em, if they can't take a joke right? I loved it lol lol lol lol P I guess if Paul were 25 and didn't know much about life I would chalk it up to brash ignorant youth, but since Paul is a grown man he should know by now that if you pick a fight you might actually have to defend yourself. Paul is not King George and though he may be "more popular than God" he still was a guest of the people of the United States. It was quite rude and Paul owes us all an apology.

One thing i always admired about Paul was his good judgement, he always was ready to take up a fight about enviromental issues and such but when it came to political issues such as giving opinions on world leaders he generally kept a low profile. I wish he would not have made this statement because he is showing he prefers one person over another. Will Paul criticize Obama when the time comes that is appropriate? I doubt it. Some believe that that time is already here with the lack of action regarding the Gulf situation and the pending destruction of that habitat and where are the comments from paul and the other hollywood type liberals. I know that several people are going to comment that Obama is not the culprit here however he has been slow to react and only then after he was criticized for doing nothing. Once again obama will try to blame someone else, well it has been a year and a half it is time you take on your reponsibility as our leader.
