He's on the Today Show now!!! Why can't I see your type, Beatles4Ever&Ever...only the smiley face shows for me.
Just saw the tweet about it! Will have to catch it later since I'm on the train now.
I don't know!!! That's odd.....however....more smiley faces coming your way:
This one I can see. You must be changing the color? My page is black...I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Yes, that is why. He/She had the entire post in bold black.

Was that Paul in the video or Sir Cliff Richard? Nice song, its growing on me.
I like the song fine. I think it does what it's supposed to do, and it's a sumptuous arrangement. People criticize the lyrics, but I don't see how they're any sillier than "Live And Let Die" or "Let 'Em In," when you look at them objectively, and certainly better than "Once Upon A Long Ago." (Of course, I like Yes, so I'm used to spacey, abstract lyrics!) I watched the video on our big TV (using Apple TV) and I thought it looked magnificent, despite the awkward movements from Paul. The landscapes are gorgeous and there's cool action in it. Very high quality visuals.

I wish people would stop analysing lyrics in songs all the time. Throughout history people have bought pop songs for the music, NOT for the lyrics. It seems to be a recent phenomenon, this constant fuss over lyrics and how deep and 'clever' they are. Words are a human invention anyway, and many people enjoy music sung in languages they don't even understand. Music is natural (eg bird song etc) and since the charts began, 99.9% people have purchased popular music because they like the over all sound of the track. I only normally notice the sound of the lyrics, not the actual meaning. I haven't once ever purchased a song primarily because of how amazing the lyrics are, but rather how excellent the music and vocal and production is.. Anyone who does so is obviously not really into music . Go read a book if you want fancy words. BTW, 'Once Upon A Long Ago' is in my top 10 McCartney tracks.

Really enjoyed listening to the mixes. I think my favourites (apart from the original) are the Jaded Mix, and the Beat Session mix. Good stuff.

By and large, I think the remixes on Paul's stuff are pretty cool, but I don't think I've ever in my life heard one in a club!

I'm really glad that you mentioned this, meant to before...Once Upon A Long Ago is also one of my top fav songs too! The Paul video version. It makes me very nostalgic for an earlier time, when family life was paramount... It's especially great for this time of year! I have to agree, you tend to love a song, long before you hear the lyrics! The tune and instruments always get to me, before the lyrics... That being said...thinking what a great song, video, lyrics and even the instrumentation on Hope!! This one is so brilliant it went to the tope !! Checked out the game today. Wow, it's quite a game! It's my #1 song, at the moment!!

I'm not a club goer, but it sounds great in the car.

What a cringeworthy video. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea? Probably only Paul. It deserves all the ridicule it's getting. It's terrible.
You're terrible
Not really. I'm just not about to champion a lame video for a song with cliched lyrics, just because Paul wrote it. And I find it embarrassing that Paul is doing all these interviews to hawk this song. Next week apparently he's going on Jon Stewart's Daily Show to promote this. : Why? He doesn't seem to realize that less of him would be more. You don't see Dylan or Bowie or Mick Jagger doing the interview circuit to promote one song. He does so many appearances that seeing him has long since stopped being special. Take. A. Break. Paul. And work on your art, rather than just the promotion of it.

Well, I, for one, am excited that he'll be on "The Daily Show." Funny how some people say he doesn't promote himself enough, while others say he does it too much. Some people like this song, some people don't. He's going to promote it because it's connected to a blockbuster video game, and because his people and the Budgie people feel that the song is worthy of promoting. If it flops, he'll move on, like he always does.

Is this song expected to chart? Anyone know?

The best chance for him to chart is through YouTube views, which Billboard now counts toward their Hot 100 singles chart. He's closing in on 500,000 views, where it was 150,000 a couple of days ago, but these are not blockbuster numbers. We won't know until next Thursday for sure, and then the following Thursday would probably be the last chance to get some traction.

Is it any wonder that hardly anyone takes the charts seriously anymore? I'm surprised they haven't taken Google into consideration and counted how many times the song title has been mentioned on the internet?

I keep hearing how terrible this video is, so I went on YT and watched it. not so bad. I like the song. Lyrics are simple, yeah, but sometimes that's OK too.

The YouTube views, which just passed 534,000 aren't enough to chart. You gotta get well into the multi-millions -- Taylor Swift territory -- to be enough. Radio play remains important for the Hot 100, and here Paul's performance seems about like usual. Per FMQB, "Hope" is tied for 5th most-added new song on Triple A radio playlists this week, added by 8 stations: http://www.fmqb.com/triplea.asp Even though the song is probably getting a little action in other formats, e.g. Adult Contemporary (FMQB hasn't updated their AC page), this is not Hot 100 airplay territory. Don't expect much, chart-wise.
