Yes, so glad it happened, they were meant to be!
And of course as you know on that evening Procol Harum performed this song:
Yes, at the Speakeasy where they went next. Georgie Fame was at the Bag ‘O Nails.

Someone posted this on FB. I don’t remember ever hearing this song:

I've always liked Mama's Little Girl although it took a long while to be officially released. Recorded during the initial Red Rose Speedway sessions, there were further overdubs during sessions for Wings At The Speeed Of Sound and Back To The Egg albums. Paul was still tinkering with it in the late 1980's. I have it on the 'Put It There' cd single and 'The Paul McCartney Collection' remastered Wild Life cd.

I've always liked it too! I have it on quite a few boots. Cold Cuts, Hot Hits & Cold Cuts, Good Sign, MoMac Hidden Tracks, etc.

Love this song! Have always wondered if he wrote it for Linda's daughter Heather, Mary, or Linda herself. The lyrics seem to indicate that he's filled with pride and his heart is full, so I tend to think it was written for one of his children.

Love this photo of Paul, Linda and family! The purple ribbon tied in the shape of a cross at right, with a wreath underneath, makes me think the photo could have been taken at Easter, but I haven't seen any evidence that Paul and Linda attended church services other than the blessing of their marriage, and don't think they attended Jewish services either, even though they were open to spiritual beliefs of many faiths. Perhaps this was taken when they attended a wedding. At any rate, love this photo, and thanks for posting, Nancy!

Yeah, I don’t know either - never saw the photo before! Found on Pinterest and it said New York, late Nov. 1970! But Mary seems younger than 15 months to me.

There is a very similar family photo on Pininterest, dated October 1970,showing the McCartneys arriving in New York having sailed from Southampton on the SS France. Paul has an identical hairstyle and Mary looks about the same age so late November 1970 could well be right.

Thanks, Kestrel! It could have been around Thanksgiving time, 1970. Mary could just have been petite and small anyway, that's why she didn't look older... or larger, lol.

Have never heard of "Dad jeans" before
Thought this was a cute photo. Looks like it was taken in a photo booth, perhaps during the "Venus and Mars" recording sessions??

Photo by Robert Rosen... no caption with photo, but i'm guessing it's from around 1982?

I think this was taken at their home in Sussex around 1979 or so. I've seen photos of them with James where it looks like they're wearing the same clothes, with the same "pillars" behind them
-
Yes, I think you’re right. James looks less than 2 here, so 1979. (he would turn 2 on Sept. 12, 1979)

Thanks, Nancy! I remembered seeing the photos you posted before, that you had me fix that were reversed, that's why I thought the one I posted was from the same time.
