Same. Thanks!

I'm guessing that photo was taken in 1994, because of the photo below which is dated the same year, and they're wearing similar clothing.

I don't think so (just based on the clothes) Look at Paul's hair and how long it is in the back. To me they also look younger in the 1st photo.

Paul, Linda and family at Glasgow Airport, 0ctober 1969.

^ Great photo! Never saw that one!

Yes, that is a good one! It was taken at the same time as this one, that you'll probably recognize, dated 0ctober 22, 1969. It's a good photo of Linda and all the family, and doesn't baby Mary look cute? I guess Paul does too

I wonder if this is them arriving in Scotland. Then subsequently Paul has his "nervous breakdown" at the farm in Campbeltown. The Beatles Bible says that on Oct. 24, 1969 Paul denied reports of his death. This must have been when the Life magazine reporter and photographer tracked them down at the farm. There is no mention of Paul again until Feb. 21, 1970 when he starts recording McCartney album songs.

I didn't think he had a "nervous breakdown"... in spite of the depression he was feeling over the breakup of the Beatles and business issues with Apple, etc., I think it was also a very happy time for him because he had Linda and new baby Mary and step-daughter Heather in his life. He continued to feel depressed about the Beatles, but Linda and his love for her and their family helped pull him through. I don't know what he would have done without her!
The fall of 1969 was particularly weird for him though because of all the stupid Paul is Dead rumors. As I said, he was also going through issues relating to the Beatles, so he just wanted some privacy to get his thoughts together, and the family escaped to Scotland. He agreed to a short interview and some photos for Life Magazine just so the press would leave him alone.

Poor Paul. He's only been at his farm for a couple of days and the press were already pestering him., No wonder he reacted the way he did. It does seem that as soon as he reached his farm he stopped shaving.

This video footage, taken in Scotland, must date between late November 1969 through January/February 1970, not sure of exact date. Mary looks to be about 5-6 months old, and Paul has regrown his beard.

Looks like the same time the back cover of McCartney was taken.
And Leslie, I said "nervous breakdown" in quotes to indicate that was not really what it was. He has freely admitted in an interview that he felt like that was what he was having. Drinking, not getting out of bed, not bathing. He definitely went through a period of depression over the breakup of the band. I agree, if he didn't have Linda then (and his kids) I shudder to think what might have happened.

I would guess early December (69) which would have given Paul enough time to grow his beard ( 5 / 6 weeks). We know the McCartneys were back in London around Christmas time (he recorded The Lovely Linda about then) and I think they may have even been on holiday in Jamaica just prior to the Christmas holiday. They probably visited Linda's family (to show them Mary) between Scotland & Christmas too. Or the holiday may have been just after New Year. Its a case of studying the 'holiday' photos on the McCartney album gatefold, one or two of the beach photos seems to originate from this time.

It's weird, but The Beatles Bible doesn't mention the recording of The Lovely Linda, only the mixing of it on Feb. 21, 1970. This does say it was recorded shortly before Christmas 1969:

Thanks, Nancy, I knew what you meant. It was a dark time for him, and I agree would have been even darker if he'd never met Linda! Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, 0ld Granddad and a pint of Guinness might have been his only friends! Hopefully he'd eventually have pulled out of it though, with intervention from friends and family. Just would have taken longer without Linda.
Kestrel, I found links to videos below, taken in Scotland, 1970. They may have been taken about the same time.
In the first video, Mary is a toddler and walking, while Paul and Linda are singing. In the second, Paul notices paparazzi filming him. It is sad to see him taking a peaceful walk with Martha and then have his private moments interrupted when he sees the photgraphers. It's a shame they had to bother him! Anyway, I'm sure you can date when these were taken.
(First minute shows Mary as smaller baby, rest are music videos of Paul and Linda filmed about 6 months later. ) (Paul walking with Martha, notices he's being filmed) -

The info concerning The Lovely Linda originates from the press release Paul issued when the McCartney album was released in April 1970. The Lovely Linda, Valentines Day & Momma Miss America were all recorded around Christmas 1969 to basically test the Studer 4 track recorder. Other songs were started at home and finished off at Morgan studios around the second week of February 1970. Further sessions were held at Abbey Road studios during the last week of February. There is a big gap during January though, when Paul probably went overseas on a holiday and / or went back to his Scotiish farm. It was this latter trip which confused many people in thinking that McCartney was recorded in Scotland when in fact it was all recorded in London.

The other footage of Paul & Martha probably dates from early December 1969 or January 1970, if he was in Scotland at the time. We know he was definitely in London that first week of 1970 as he was recording I Me Mine with George and Ringo.

Thanks for the info! Didn't know that was from June 1971. It's difficult to date photos and videos from December 1969-1971 because Paul's beard basically looks the same and his look didn't change much. It helps if baby Mary is pictured, to try and date it by her age at the time.
These photos, taken by Linda, must have been around the time of the "Paul walking with Martha" video mentioned previously. In spite of what he was going through with the Beatles, he looks very happy (and in love!) in every photo that Linda took.

^ I don't think so. His hair is much longer in these pics compared to the "walking Martha" video. He was dressed about identical though.
