I actually remember that 'sprout' painting. The girl had dark hair & a very strong joisey accent. Not sure where the accent was from since I have a chicago accent... But I saw it recently on a Beatles DVD...now to try & remember which one?
It was "The Complbeat Beatles". I had the VHS tape of it. It was the first Beatles Documentary I remember coming out. I liked it so much I converted it to DVD, but I would think a DVD of it has been released. I thought that she was soooo cool. It wasn't just a poster paper sign type piece of art, but it was on canvas. She was a real artist! I hope she is found, and told about the art/graphics contest. I would love to see her work. I hope she stuck with her art. I'd love to know what happened to the painting too. It should be in a Beatles museum! It was great! Podgie (I loved the joisy/ny accent also) Monkey
YES! That was the title. It has been on a few not so officially released DVDS. I've seen her many times. Very funny. 'like a sprout...coming up from the ground' Then the man says Do you have a crush on Paul? oh yes she replies. LOL!
I found a webpage that contains a link to it on Youtube, it is within the video clip. I think she is wonderful. This was 1966 in NYC at the Warwick Hotel. You can imagine the excitement at the time, the girls screaming, etc. I hope that Paul's video crew will search her out and do a segment on her, either for the next DVD or for this website. This has such relation to the new contest, it is perfect. Maybe we on the forum can help make this happen?! http://beatlestillidie.blogspot.com/2010/04/sprout-of-new-generation.html Podgie (She's a true fan!) Monkey
Was that just a typo? (it's The Compleat Beatles) I have it somewhere on VHS too. And was the interview with the girl '66 for sure or earlier? It would be great if she could be tracked down.

^ She is in the link Podgie gave just above. Looks soooo 60s. She's probably now a ....naw....better not say it.

Graphics!? Art Contest?! Huh?! I don't believe it!!! It can't be. This was made for me! I got my painters beret on, and am again developing my fake, how you say, fake accent! I got so much in storage, but man, this got me working on new stuff! I can take inspiration on my old stuff. Like this one...I call...Blue Boy, no wait that name's already taken...I call... Podgie's "Gainborough Nil" - Click Here Podgie (a new classic!) Monkey

I saw the video of the girl back in the 60's, but I meant I hope they can find her today. She's probably what? A grandmother?

I've wondered if this girl ever got to meet Paul too. I remember when I first saw that video decades ago. The fabs each got depictions of themselves sent to them. Shea Stadium DVD has a shot of a guitar case propping up a painting of Ringo wearing a crown of Laurel Leaves like a greek god while he is sitting next to it smoking.

OH and checking out some of the older posts around here, this thread wins as the most surreal currently on this board.

" Just found my copy of "The Compleat Beatles" (yeah, I spelt it wrongly before). It is in there. There is a clip on Youtube from the movie...
Podgie (Wow, Malcolm McDowell before Fantasy Island) Monkey -
Maybe it's just me, 'cause I'm always thinkin'. What would the 'sprout' be today? My guess would be something like this..."A Mighty Oak of the Present Generation"... Then again I'm not sure what generation I'm in. Podgie (It use to be the Pepsi Generation according to commercials) Monkey

Paul has admitted to liking hair on women ever since that French waitress Mimi. Linda had delicous legs too though she got slammed for it. So, I can quite envision Paul going nuts for Podgie. Maybe Nancy has some competition?
