Only one more kiss

A gem of a song that has everything. Some songs just fit the moment and fit the album perfect
-
Like many of the songs on Flaming Pie? I just previewed a couple & they are soo perfect for the time. Linda was sick & they just seem to FIT. Heaven on a Sunday
Somedays Calico Skies -
Red Rose Speedway is full of under-rated gems IMO
-
Heaven on Sunday brings me to tears. I have a family member who is sick so the song is very relatable.

I had a family member going through chemo treatments when Flaming Pie came out. Almost every song could be relatable to a sick family member. I was also thinking of Linda at that time. "sitting in the center of the circle...everybody wanted something from you" ps. hope your relative gets better as mine did.

this is a catchy song i can sing to this one i dig it

Remember, Flaming Pie came out when Linda had cancer. I distinctly remember thinking, after listening to it a few times, "This man is scared to death that his wife is going to die." I know some of the songs were written before Linda's diagnosis, but I think this cloud that was hanging over them clearly shaped the album, consciously or unconsciously. When in "Somedays" Paul sings, "I cry for those who fear the worst," it's hard to avoid thinking he's talking about his own family.

To me, 'One More Kiss' is as pleasant as another diddy a bit later is - "Country Dreamer". Both are fresh from his country heart.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe Paul's stories (written in the booklet) as to when some of the songs were written. So many great lines in a lot of the songs. I cried during my first listening since I was also in the same boat as Paul. (cancer...of a loved one... looming over my head) Love that album.

So I just had to post a link to the song:
-
A lovely song, which along with Big Barn Bed,Little Lamb Dragonfly and Single PIgeon saves RRS from being a complete disaster.
-
When RRS came out, I thought One More Kiss was just complete bubblegum crap and hated it beyond words. I don't mind it as much now, but I'd still swap it out for The Mess any day.
-
It's a cool enough song... A perfect "album" song. Fulfils its role on any album well. I like it!

As for Little Lamb Dragonfly.... simply divine. Beautiful. Sends shivers up my spine.
