I was at the SNL rehearsal show and they were rockin! Man were they loud! I don't think some of the people seated near me expected Paul to be that loud lol.

Thank you E.C.B. A lot of the Nirvana songs depress me What downers! Neil Young has a new autobiography out. His songs can be depressing some of 'em but the lyrics are wonderfully poetic, usually

Has anyone noticed some of the references to Beatles songs? Like, "let me be" and " don't let me down." Of all the Nirvana songs I knw and I know them as I am a huge fan of the band, I have never heard one so mean spirited. Too bad Kurt is not here. I was a HUGE fan of his, and am a couple of years younger than he would be now. I was all into the grunge movement back in the 90's...he is sorely missed. He can't be replaced. Just like John and George cannot be replaced.

I think lyrics are Paul's.... impromptu ones, he just came up with that while jamming with them... and Beatles were naturally in his mind. It's pretty much "She's Leaving Home", "mother I just wanna have some fun". "Bye Bye"

Yes, I noticed. Guess he was not in a good mood that day with someone. Good riddance,eh? I love the music, the rhythm of the song though, it rocks! Wonder how people would have felt if Kurt Cobain/ another member of Nirvana replaced John Lennon or George Harrison at a Beatles reunion? Just sayin'.

It would actually be such a potenially great band, if Paul honestly started writing and being more melodic, within the format and with the edge of that backing band, and a band that can go soft and intricate when Paul wants to also, would all sound so commercial. Could revitalize everything, if they became a group. Paul's just getting old. its just not exactly normal to see Paul rocking like that all the time anymore. But its awesome to see the rest of them working with the best in the world. again

You know Nirvana much better than me, do you think they could be kind of melodic? I can't see them doing Penny Lane, Bohemian Rhapsody or so.

yeah probably not that melodic but they could easily surprise everybody and make some great stuff. Paul would end up feeling boxed in musically in that band though, they'd have to get real inventive or Paul would quit. I mean lets face it its not like Krist Novoselic is a great bassist. and Pat Smear has had mostly that real hard splashy punk shoe gaze sound. Dave could do some great things with Paul for sure. just like any two good artists I guess. But its Paul in an alt rock band, thats what they play. But like Pumpkins, or Angels & Airwaves, Paul could write really like that in this band 'Sirvana' and they could get very melodic, yet of the time. thats totally what it could be, Penny Lane but of the time! Hm not like its ever happening, plus Paul's so old, I'm sure he's not looking to get tied down. except by Nancy occasionally

well, as one can dream... I would like Paul joining Queen, now that's more appropiate for Paul... and for Queen. Paul is the only replacement possible for Freddie (at least from the candidates of mainstream) and maybe Elton... if he was inspired these days. But Elton has always had "his band" and Paul has always needed top musicians around to do his best. It's a win-win situation, Paul gets a band at the level of the Beatles, and Queen gets a singer-songwriter frontman at the level of Freddie. They're meant to be only they don't know it, I guess... Perhaps when they're 80. Let's get trippy..... Queen/Beatles Mash Up Dear Prudence-Fool On The Hill-Crazy Little Thing Called Love (the guitar and flute solo is terrific)

Interesting thoughts................. Although this is a Paul McCartney fan forum, I have to say that neither Elton John nor Paul McCartney is nowhere near the singer Freddie Mercury was. George Michael is the only singer that could be a possible candidate for Queen. I really don't see the need for Paul to do a full scale colaboration with another household name. One-offs (or maybe two-offs) will do nicely, thank you. Think Lou Reed & Metalica and what it did to their reputation......

But still one can dream. lol. I disagree, George Michael is similar to Freddie, it can sound similar but he's not as great singer as Paul. Paul would sing Queen songs better than George and, anyway, my point of a replacement is a "real" replacement. For a singer-singer they do well with Adam Lambert, or they could use some of the greatest Freddie's impersonators. But, for a creative band as Queen were, Paul McCartney, hands down, no brainer. (Unless they discover me, lol) And those guys are the best in TYING SOMEONE DOWN. Let's go.... Queen-Tie your mother down live
