Doh, as a Paul fan I knew he was born in 1942... hadn't had my coffee yet so wasn't thinking, lol He does look fantastic in that photo! I think it's because he takes such good care of himself by eating healthy and exercising. ....
Not such healthy living in his younger days. How about all the drugs they did when they were younger & he himself smoked all kinds of things until pretty recently? He does try to set a good example now.
Yeah, after he married Linda he began eating healthier, especially when they became vegetarians. Not sure what sort of stuff he ate before then, probably always ate out or something, probably didn't cook alot himself. He said in the Wingspan interview that when Linda arrived on the scene in London she was shocked to see his refrigerator was practically empty. Not sure if he hit the gym alot before he met her, but he seemed to like to work outdoors and do yard work, etc.. Anyway, it goes without saying that he and Linda tried to live a healthy lifestyle as far as their eating habits go.

Have you ever read any of Linda's cookbooks? They didn't watch things like we do now. Yes, they didn't eat meat but the butter she used!

When Paul and Linda first became vegetarians, they both said in interviews that they ate a lot of dairy products, and beans and legumes, to make up for the protein they'd be losing by not eating meat. Her cookbooks reflect the best she knew at the time, but she and Paul were always interested in learning more, and kept studying more as time went on, and kept applying what they'd learn as they grew in the vegetarian lifestyle. I understand Paul is vegan now where he doesn't eat dairy or eggs, etc. I became a vegetarian several years ago, and Linda was a good example for me. I'm not vegan yet, I still eat organic dairy products and eggs (raised organically and responsibly), but there are studies out there that say eating too much dairy and eggs can increase your cholesterol risk for strokes, etc... so maybe that's not a bad thing to try to eat as little of that as possible, or eliminate it entirely. Little by little I'm gradually doing that, by drinking almond milk and adding vegan cheese to my diet (I like the Daiya brand, lol) Anyway, I think Paul's vegan diet is a good example of healthy living and has helped to keep him in good health where he is active and fit and much younger than most men his age, which is important (we want him to be with us as long as possible!) so that's great!

I don't think he's vegan. His X was though.

ok, well, I got the idea he was vegan from this article... but it doesn't quote him directly saying he is.... http://www.foods4betterhealth.com/paul-mccartney-looks-fit-at-74-credits-vegan-diet-14586 I could swear though that I read somewhere that he's been vegan for at least a year or so... will try to find where I read that... When he and Nancy were married, numerous articles stated they had a wedding reception/dinner that was both vegetarian AND vegan... It's true that when he was married to his second wife, she was a vegan... Anyway, maybe someone else knows for absolutely positive sure if he is a true vegan (If he isn't, I don't feel so bad now for still eating cage free eggs )

No one here knows anything much about him "for sure" as you say. The only people that know that are Paul & Nancy & probably his team.

That's very true! Just thought maybe someone here might have read an article or something, where he said he's a vegan now... no worries

He had a housekeeper who maybe cooked for him, from mid-1966 when he moved into his London home (and maybe Jane cooked occasionally I suppose), and from 1963 to 1966 he lived at the Asher's home so Mrs. Asher probably cooked for him when he was there. He was on the road a lot before they gave up touring after August 1966, so probably ate a lot of room service which could have been a lot of meat and potatoes sort of meals. Remember back then he said his favorite food was roast beef?! When Linda arrived at Paul's in mid-Sept 1968 he was at the studio and she had to call someone to get groceries (and dog food) as all Paul had in the fridge was sour milk and moldy cheese! (this was in Danny Fields' book Linda McCartney: A Portrait) And when Paul was younger, the only exercise he got was during sex! It wasn't until his later years he started working out at the gym. He became a real handyman after getting together with Linda and worked on fixing up the farm in Scotland. There are even pics of him up on the roof putting shingles on!

She's the admin... And she does an excellent job of knowing all the answers!!! Thanks!
She's a moderator. The admin is Alan Greig. And now I recognize that as WATSOS. It's blurry though. Oh, and you never said what photo you were referring to (something in Paul's hand)
Hi Nancy, I am not a moderator, I am a board administrator and have been such for over three years now. We have several administrators here at the Maccaboard, each with varying duties and responsibilities such as security, technical, maintenance, pre-sales, etc. I LOVED being a moderator and made it clear upon being upgraded to an administrator that I would be more than happy to continue with what is considered moderating duties in addition to administrative duties. I have always enjoyed being part of the team and continue to enjoy working with the fans. ? Most everyone involved here tends to wear multiple hats and assists when and where we can. To my knowledge, no one here is terribly hung up on titles, all very nice, helpful people. If asked to tidy Paul's desk, archive some of his photos, and/or offer opinions on newly written songs, I would be happy to do that as well. Announcement of my upgrade made on 11 January 2014: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2758492#2758492

Hi everyone I am happy to announce that Anita (Triplets Love Paul) has been upgraded to the status of Board Admin. It will be great to have Anita working as an Admin as she has worked hard as a moderator for close to three years and this upgrade is very well deserved. Anita will be contactable via the "moderator group" as usual. Please join in with me in congratulating her on her new status. Congratulations, Anita! Liz

Thanks for the info, NancyR! In one of his interviews with Howard Stern, Paul said that one of the reasons he moved into the Asher home was because Mrs Asher (Jane's mother) provided home comforts... home cooked meals, clean laundry, etc... he said he had a chance to share a flat with "the guys" (George & Ringo?) but chose to live with the Ashers instead. In the Wingspan documentary Paul talked about Linda finding moldy cheese in his refrigerator, lol. I think it's sweet that from the very beginning she wanted to take good care of him I agree with you about the exercise, lol, but think he also enjoyed bicycling and swimming as well. Before Linda, I don't see him as a Rocky type working out with a punching bag at the gym, or going for four mile jogs every morning., but probably at different times has had some sort of exercise regimen

Thanks so very much, Anita, for posting that Golden Globes photo of Paul... he does look incredibly handsome! It's one of the handsomest photos I've seen of him! He looks absolutely gorgeous.... it's worthy of saying *Thud* *I've fallen backwards and I can't get up* lol That's wonderful you were named an Administrator. You seem very nice, and down to earth, and I think would be very fair and listen to anyone on the board if they needed to contact you, which are perfect qualifications for a good administrator

That is a particularly gorgeous photo!!! I've always wondered what the badges are on the sash. Wondered whether they are related to some type of achievement or award perhaps... Does anyone know?

My guess would be that the scarf has logos of different organizations that Paul supports, or is a group of logos from organizations in Liverpool maybe? Since he wore it to the Golden Globes, he no doubt was showing support for whatever is on the scarf, lol We don't often get to see Paul in a tux and bow tie... he usually likes the sporty natural look... so he does look especially handsome and dapper in that photo He wore a plaid jacket and bow tie to the Costume Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in 2011... here he is at the event talking to Colin Firth. I think I've seen photos of him wearing that jacket at an event he and Linda attended also. Will have to check. Anyway, he always looks very dapper and handsome when he's dressed up (and of course he always looks great in casual clothes too.)

He was a presenter at the Golden Globes & made a great quote.
