There are lots of rumours, some turn to fact, others fade away. At the moment Paul is selling tickets to concerts in the USA and other dates remain unannounced. The only ray of hope at present in the news that this is to be an "extensive" tour. In recent years Paul seems to have held back "home" country gigs to the end of a season/tour so it may well be a while before we get any news of gigs in the UK. A;lthough a rumour date of 1st July would belie that trend. In interviews about the Good Evening Europe tour Paul stated he had hoped to do a "Union Jack" tour - four concerts England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland but the availability of suitable venues confounded that ambition. So hopefully he will remember Wales and Scotland in this years plans at some time. Martin
-
Well, the other rumours include two UK festivals in June, so the Hampden Park gig would fit in with that.
-
He better not play Hampden on the 1st. I am on holiday And after missing the o2 cause of the snow. This would take the biscuit!
-
I am praying & hoping for the UK tour. I cannot go to the US like last year as have major sinus probs so flying is out for several months.
-
I checked the website article out responsible for this "rumour".It seemed a fairly reputable site.Anybody got thoughts as to how acurate it's likely to be? Surely a Scottish gig at long last?.....
-
It's in the Sunday Mail today that Paul will be playing Hampden Park on 20 June, but won't be officially announced for another 48 hours. I hope it's true!

I'm a bit disappointed to see that once again the journalist has dragged up that rumour that Paul is planning this to be a huge farewell tour to end his 50 year career. Paul has gone out his way to distance himself from this rumour stating in several high profile interviews that it is not the case and he has no plans to end touring any time soon. The news report is interesting and encouraging, shame that farewell tour rubbish has crept back in again to drag down the credibility. 48 hours eh? Let's see..... Martin

We were laughing about it because I will be on holiday then so we may cut our holiday short

Hampden Park - looks like it`s true. Farewell tour - well, probably not, but it`s no stretch to think that this will be the last big tour.

20th June... sounds great. Lets just wait and see if it will be confirmed, along with other UK dates I hope!

As Paul has stated, he undergoes a strict medical before any series of concerts. I think when Paul's GP finally says 'thats it' then that will be when Paul will stop. Much as he loves playing the big shows, I don't think he's daft enough to risk his health doing them. There after I can quite imagine Paul downscaling to playing small pub-style gigs....basically going full circle with his career.
-
didn't he already say he wasn't doing big tours anymore. It doesn't fit with his life now. He's going to do places and shows that interest him. That's what he did last year, and it seems he is doing that this year. As for size, the Hollywood bowl is on the small side, 5000, not a pub but not an arena either. As for medical exams, I don't remember reading Paul saying that, but doesn't every artist have to take exams for insurance purposes. and if you see some acts, they aren't exactly following doctors orders. He's going to do a handful of shows this year, like he did last year.
-
No, I don`t remember Paul saying that either.Obviously he has regular health check-ups, and yes, he would need them for insurance. But if they allow Keith Richards on the road... Personally, I can`t see how a big show is any more of a health risk than a small show. It`s the size of the tour we are talking about here.

I just resheduled my holiday will go earlier as planned so I will defantly go

I just heard this from a fan on brian ray's fb page as well. This article seems to be very convincing despite some...false information scattered throughout it.
-
Hope it's true - is it 20th june (a sunday?!) or as origionally rumored the 1st july? I've blocked out the 19th,20th of june and the 1st july from my band callender just in case!

It also makes another 'Fairwell Tour' reference despite Paul's comments to the contrary

Yeah, so I mean, it has a date, but it has some info that makes the source sound a bit sketchy
