Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE

It'd be nice if there ware pitch seats still available, cos then he could move everyone forwards a bit...! lol Josh
-
what worries me is that the last time he tried a BIG gig in scotland/glasgow the whole thing flopped due to poor ticket sales.he ended up playing a 9000 indoor arena instead. it would be a good idea to announce a big support act/acts if tickets need selling. i would suggest a couple of indie bands like 'shed seven' and 'supergrass' both of which are small enough to merely support but big enough to bring their own crowd.

I think there is a lot of call for some Scottish bands to support him, see what happens with that. I think they are selling enough to not move it. Although Hampden and the organisers would be pissed because they only have 2 gigs on this year so they'll be thinking money, but on the other hand I would have rathered he had gone to a smaller venue.

God, hope he doesn't change venues! its taking enough time effort and money to get there as it is. lol Josh

The only good sign is that on TicketSoup a couple of weeks ago, you could have up to 10 tickets for any section, now in certain areas that is down to 2, so maybe the sales are beginning to pick up.

wow they are really trying to plug Paul's show at Hampden. I was there and there were adverts throughout the evening about Paul playing there....nothing for the Pink concert, seems they are having a harder time getting rid of the Macca tickets

im suprised that paul did not insist on plugging this and the other huge arena shows hes got coming up in [wales/ireland] in this month Q magazine or the excellent 'absolute radio' interview i heard today. [just go to the absolute radio site for a playback]. he really should have plugged his gigs although obviously the 'london hard rock' was mentioned throughout.

Yeah, it was strange he didn't mention the Hampden, Cardiff or IOW gigs because Absolute's a UK-wide station, not just a London one. But they kept talking about what it was like to play Hyde Park. Does Hard Rock sponsor Absolute Radio or something?

sort of the other way round...Absolute Radio tends to do a lot of plugging for Hard Rock and has done so for a wee while.

Well, with the planes not flying to/from Scotland again, I bought myself a back-up trainticket to the UK today. I have an A'dam-Glasgow planeticket but just in case they're gonna cancel flights again, I got myself a pretty cheap trainticket to London as well. Just to be sure.

At a shopping centre today I picked up a tour flayer for the gig. I will put this and my ticket in a special frame. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y136/EuanB/Paulflayer.jpg
