Has anyone heard of this happening before at a concert?

Paul is not the drummer. Abe would be a more likely candidate.

True but it would be cool if McCartney once played drums live IMO.

          Maybe I'm amazed !!

I know that 😛 At the Brooklyn show Monday, though, one of the sound guys beckoned me over toward the end of the night and handed me a drumstick. I didn't hear what he said, but one of the guys after told me that "Paul wanted you to have it." I just wasn't sure if it has happened before, because I'd never heard of anything like that happening and it confused the hell out of me. It's one that Abe was obviously using earlier in the night because it has cracks and splinters in it.

At the end of any show there are a few cheap disposable items that the crew know will have sentimental value to fans attending the show. If you're in the right place at the right time the types of things handed out by the crew include: drumsticks, as in this instance. guitar picks from Paul, Rusty and Brian. The set-list running order sheets each member of the band - and Paul - have at their positions. While it's unlikely Paul will have said "I want this to be given to that person" it's a common industry practice which he undoubtedly supports. Who's been fortunate enough to get such a gift? If so, what and when? Are there any other items handed over the rail that I haven't listed? If so what? Good topic... Martin

I thought Paul was a vegetarian? Why would he be giving out drumsticks?

and I am wracking my brain to remember if he also played them when they did the song live in 1993....

I'm fairly sure he did at Earls Court in 1993 when Hamish was singing this.

In Scotland, it is common to hear the phrase, "We're all Jock Tamson's Bairns", meaning "we're all the same under the skin" or "we are all God's children".

That's what I was trying to remember---I was at those gigs. Thanks!

sure. easy enough, as it's so rare for him to be playing drums.

Brian Ray threwhis tambourine into the crowd near the end of Saturday nights show in Brooklyn I think on Hey Jude. Maybe the sound guy was trying to pick you up!

There was a toy green frog* on the sound board during the Memphis concert. It looked like the sound guy gave it to someone at the end of the concert. (Unfortunately it wasn't me). *Remember after the crickets in Brazil they put green frogs on Paul's piano. The one I saw looked like one of them...

I got a guitar pick, I think it was the first Citifield concert (or maybe the 2nd night)

Brian throws the tambourine into the crowd just about every time they sing "Hey Jude" live at concerts. I have yet to catch it.

Thst's because he usually throws it to Paul's head of security. It only looks like he is throwing it to the crowd.

The tambourine is tossed directly to Brian Riddle. It does not go in to the crowd.
