Word on the street is that Paul's 1967 soundtrack for The Family Way will be re-released for Record Store Day* this April. I am assuming that will be on LP only, as that is usually the focus of RSD releases. Previously for Record Store Day, he put out the WOA live version of "Maybe I'm Amazed" on a 12" single in 2013, and I also just found that the 7" single of "Let 'Em In"/"Beware My Love" came out as a Record Store Day special in the UK last month ("12 Days of Christmas" is what they called this series of releases). That would be in addition to its release in the US as a Best Buy exclusive with the SOS reissue CD. Yet another UK "12 Days of Christmas" re-release last month was "Letting Go"/"You Gave Me The Answer" (also released as a Best Buy exclusive in the US, with V&M). And, of course, the Beatles' Long Tall Sally 7" EP was re-released for Record Store Day Black Friday in the US in November '14, and for the UK's "12 Days" series in December. Whew! I am not this crazed about collecting anymore, but I'm sure some people will be interested to know. *For those who are unaware, Record Store Day has been going on for a few years now, with special releases coming out that are supposed to be only available at independent record stores. You CAN find many of them online, but that wasn't the original point. It started as a one-day event in April, but then it expanded to Black Friday in the US, and apparently now to December in the UK as well.

I went to Amoeba Music in Hollywood for Record Store Day last April. You know, that place where Paul and his band played a free concert in 2007. It was nuts. People were lined up around the block to get in that place and go through the new releases. I mean thousands of people. Looked like a concert queue, all to buy records. Vinyl is back, big time!

Wings Over America - Cow Palace SF - June 1976. New World Tour - Anaheim Stadium - 4/17/93. Driving USA - Oakland Arena - 4/1/2002. US Tour - HP Pavilion - San Jose - 11/08/05. An Evening with Paul McCartney - The Joint at Hard Rock - Las Vegas - 4/19/09. Up & Coming Tour - Hollywood Bowl - 3/31/10. Walk of Fame Star Presentation - Hollywood - Feb. 2012. There's a store about 20 minutes away from me that is a similar scene on those days, so people tell me, but there's a store right in my little town that does it, and I've been there three times so far. Usually a couple dozen people wait in line to get in, and the owners only let a few in at a time, so it's not a mad scene. Only problem is, this store is too small to get any of the limited quantities of the Beatles-related items, apparently, but there are many other artists' releases I have gotten there. It's an enjoyable excursion, seeing other music geeks in person, rather than online!

Good news! I love The Family Way soundtrack. Some nice melodies on there. I have only heard it on Spotify, so this would be a good opportunity to buy a physical copy.

Very cool! I have a used one I got in the nineties, a bit beat up on the cover.
