An acquaintance's younger brother misunderstood & instead of Coming Up thought Paul was singing "Dummy Up"!
My younger sister thought it was "Scummy Love"!
-
Our kid misunderstood the lyrics to "Soul Man" & was goin' round the house singing: "I'm a Stoned Man"!

Tangled Beretta:
In "Hi Hi Hi": I used to think Paul was singing "Get you ready for my bodyguard" instead of "polygon".
To this day I think he's saying "body gun" instead of "polygon." But I like "body gun" better ops: ...oh, in my dreams!!
-
Or how 'bout instead of " 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky", " "Scuse me while I kiss this guy"?!
-
Beatlesfan94:
Until recently, I thought the line from "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" was: "LITTLE little be a gypsy, get around Get your feet up off the ground LITTLE little, get around" When it was really: "Live a little be a gypsy, get around Get your feet up off the ground Live a little, get around"
Well that's closer than my version: Lee-doo-dee-doo, be a gipsy, get around...
-
here's one from Every Breath You Take: "I'm a pool hall ace" (How my poor heart aches is the correct one!)
-
Many people think the lyrics to Live and Let Die are "but in this ever changing world in which we live in makes you give in and cry". The correct lyrics are "but if this ever-changing world in which we're livin' makes you give in and cry". For one thing Paul's grammar has never been that bad. Secondly, if you look at films of him singing it, the latter lyric fits. I don't care what some sloppy translator wrote down on the lyric sheet in error. I think one of the greatest hits albums might have printed the lyrics incorrectly.

"I don't ask for much I only wanna f----k and you know it don't come easy" --from "It Dont Come Easy" by Ringo Starr my little girl friends and I used to sing that sometime instead of the regular lyrics "I only want trust" because we were evil and depraved little children, LOL --and you have to admit, it DOES sound like he could be singing that : ops:
-
"John will be virile forevr" - sung to tune of SFF
-
"Who put all those things in your hair?" from "She Said She Said" by John Lennon. For a long time I thought that's what he was singing. Then I found out he'd written the song about Peter Fonda and I wondered what all Peter Fonda had in his hair at that party, LOL *it's actually "Who put all those things in your head?" --isn't it?
-
I remember when "GO NOW" came out ....everybody in Brooklyn was singing 'GONADS"...."GONADS"...
-
I used to think in Peace In The Neighbourhood, where he sings "how can peace hope to stay alive", that he was singing "pea soup to stay alive" I know, there's no hope.LOL
-
Rick Springfield : You know I wish that I was Jessie's girl instead of I wish I had Jesse's girl!
-
Does anyone else think that "Winter Rose" sounds like "Winter Woes"? I was listening to it recently and then realized "winter woes" is exactly what the state of Maine is experiencing right now. WHEN WILL IT END?!?
