All I can say is OMG!!!! It was brilliant!!! I have the chills right now typing this!!! This was a very magical night!!! Everything about it was so surreal. It was genius!!! The concept, the artist, the music, the "drive-in" experience! WOW!! Paul McCartney, thank you so much!!!!!!! WOW
Yes Julian, I have to agree WOW what a night!!! The attention to detail that went in to "The Drive in Paul McCartney style. Just amazing!!! I think everyone was expecting Paul to show up, and start playing on the rooftop!!! I even think that some were a bit peeved that he didn't show his face to say thanks for all the work that was put into the NEW album presentation! None the less, it was the most amazing presentation of the NEW album that you can imagine : ) a true "themed" extravaganza! From the beatific videos on entrance with a lanyard and glow stick, to the beautiful lobby presentation. A free bar, New symbols emblazoned everywhere! The buzz was that Paul would be showing up! Everyone was excited! After time on the lobby , sipping wine and chatting with other Paul fans, we were eventually directed to golf carts...emblazoned with lyrics and the NEW logo. We were whisked up to the rooftop, where the hostess seated us in brand "new" Audi's and VW's . Once the album started, you noticed that an artist was painting the drive in movie screen in the style of Paul's Fireman painting! Listening to the album, it went too fast!! Watching the painting in the making was very interesting! Before you knew it, the album was over and we were all whisked back to the lobby in our NEW golf cart for a nightcap and some good conversation! I can't believe what's good job that was done by the Audi VW team. They were so disappointed that he didn't show. We all were as well! Great album, can't wait to listen again!

OOOOOOh a "Piano song," can't wait and I was turned on by hearing there's a harpsichord in the song "New," will love that, eat it up, so English-y (pant, pant) ENGLISH..."beatle-y"...British..."U.K."...Ol' Blighty...there shall always be one... I know what you mean about the listening parties, R. Martinez. Why was Albuquerque excluded, I've been there and it's a cool place. Somewhat smaller cities than N.Y. and L.A. should have been granted a crack at the action They would have just loved that too.

Scared was the last song, I believe
-
I just read Love2Travel's account of the N.Y. listening party, and was bedazzled...such style, innovation, novelty, originality and grace were displayed in the grand display they put on for Paul's fantastic work... which certainly deserved such finesse, such attention to detail and meticulous planning, how great that it all came together, to fruition Love2Travel's writing also did Paul proud, such a stirring, stunning vivid account Well done all around

Yes! Love2Travel is spot on about everything!! It was so overwhelming! Everything went well and the people were so nice who were running the event! Everywhere you looked in the dealership was "New!" Just WOW. The album went by so fast and everybody was jamming like there was no tomorrow!!! God how I wished the night didn't have to end!!! I loved how after every song, everybody would honk the cars horn!!! Haha that was awesome!!!

Scared is reportedly the last song - unlisted on the album notes as a "hidden track - so that sounds about right. Martin
-
You're so high on it, Julian, we can tell the L.A. experience was every bit as rousingly fabulous as New York's, how wonderful for you

Was there any way to tell what their favorite song was? Did they honk more for one certain song?

I want to hear Struggle so much right now... I wonder if any song will beat Queenie Eye as my favorite track.

Beatles4Ever&Ever:
While I love shared experiences, my favorite way to listen to a new album....is all by myself....played very loud...over and over. I really don't want anyone else in the room/house with me. Weird maybe, but that's how I like to hear it for the first time. I don't want to be wondering what others around me may be thinking. I show emotion and dance around....I listen to how it all sounds and how the songs fit together. Later I read the lyrics and listen to what's actually being said. The first...is all about the sound!!!
No. I completely agree.

People were dancing up front in the headlights and waving their arms back and forth like at a concert! It was an event! I heard a number of people say that since I was 100 people, they thought that they would never get in, then they happened to drive by and they decided to try and get in! Only a Paul appearance would have made it so unbelievable!! We honked for all the songs!!! I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow!

Lol I am still high on it!! I'll be high for life!! I know my family just got home from the LA event and they said it was cool!!!! They got posters and glow sticks and my mom chatted with Chris Carter from Breakfast with The Beatles!! They had an awesome time and people at the drive in had a great time listening to it on the radio!! My mom said it felt authentic since it was static a little bit when they told them to turn the radio on! Really cool!

glad to hear that those of you who got to attend these pre-hearings were as fortunate to even get to do so

Our experience in LA was very different from the NY one - ours was very California, very casual. Cars, a drive-in, dancing to Paul and The Beatles in the sunset. Red solo cups *ahem*. And we all got to meet Chris Carter from Breakfast with the Beatles, who couldn't be sweeter. Since fewer people showed up than they'd anticipated, they gave us extra posters. Which is great, because now I have ones to give to friends. I agree with the other positive reviews. I was blown away! This album is one of Paul's best. It was a very powerful experience being alone in my car just listening to the album in the dark and letting it sink in during the silences between songs. We didn't get to hear the hidden track (at least not in LA). The last one was "Road," and it's definitely one of my favorites. To be honest, though, this album is so strong, it's going to be hard to pick a favorite. That said, "Appreciate" is a VERY strong contender! I can already tell I'll be playing that one a *lot*. I can't wait to have a chance to listen to all the songs all over again with a great pair of headphones and really appreciate them. Chris Carter told me that these listening parties were Paul's idea, and I'm so grateful he gave us the chance to hear his album in this unique, shared experience. parlance

At one point I was sitting on the window rest of the car and sticking my body out the window during "New" and jamming out loud!! That was so awesome!
