21st Century Cold Cuts
-
While waiting for the new album, how would you compile an album of non-album McCartney songs released this century? For me, it would have to include: Comfort Of Love My Soul Whole Life (I Want To) Come Home Calico Skies [full band version] I Want You To Fly This Loving Game Growing Up Falling Down Blue Sway [Richard Niles orchestration] Why So Blue Vanilla Sky Cut Me Some Slack Out Of Sight [with the Bloody Beetroots] I Want To Walk You Home [Fats Domino cover]

Cold Cuts is a project associated more with unreleased songs rather than non-album songs. Given that we've been waiting since 1981 for Cold Cuts Volume One, I imagine Volume Two will surface around 2050.

Well, I couldn't think what else to call it that would get people's attention.

I've only recently discovered "My Soul". What a beautiful song. Paul's vocal delivery, while on one hand shows some of his age, expresses the emotion of the lyric and melody perfectly.

Here's a better order for an album, I think: Whole Life Vanilla Sky Comfort Of Love Growing Up Falling Down Calico Skies [full band version] Blue Sway [Richard Niles orchestration] Out Of Sight [with the Bloody Beetroots] Why So Blue I Want To Walk You Home [Fats Domino cover] Cut Me Some Slack (I Want To) Come Home My Soul I Want You To Fly This Loving Game

'Why so blue' would have been a MASSIVE (at least radio) hit had it been released as a single.

I was watching the Secret Website Show from 2002 this morning. Celebration or India would be a nice addition

I forgot what a great song that is! Kind of wondering if he would record it as The Fireman, though; it's certainly atmospheric.

I've had India in my iPod playlist for years......absolutely love that song. It's different, reminds me of his Fireman stuff.

My Soul - Nitin Sawhney's "London Undersound" - a concept album in response to the '05 terror attacks - very moving album, many different vocalists - there's also a McCartney spoken-word interlude before the track Whole Life - collaboration with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics - from a Nelson Mandela tribute/charity project called "46664" - I got it as an iTunes download Calico Skies - from a charity CD called "Hope" Blue Sway - from the "McCartney II" reissue Out Of Sight - just released this year by the Bloody Beetroots - I got the download from iTunes US And I forgot about "Best Love" by the Steep Canyon Rangers with Steve Martin - Paul sings lead - nice song! - got it through iTunes
