I joined the Fun Club at its start in March 1972 and was a continuous member till it finished due to the tragic circumstances that occurred in April 1998. I still have all the original Club letters, Sandwiches, t-shirts, badges etc, etc, that were given away or I bought during that time. I first met Paul, Linda, Denny, Denny & Henry in March 1973 when I was lucky enough to get tickets for 2 shows that were being recorded at Elstree Studios for Pauls TV show "James Paul McCartney" what a truly momentous couple of days...wow actually meeting and chatting to all of them (plus autographs of course!!). My only regret is that you wer'nt allowed cameras (we hadnt even dreamed of Smartphones!!!) so I have no photographic record of one of or probably the , best days of my life. One consolation though I can been seen applauding at the start of the show when it was shown on TV later that year. The Fun Club in the early years was a great club to be in, the chances to get tickets to video shoots, premieres, concerts etc was so much different to the latter days when it had spread to all corners of the globe and personal contact by phone or letter to the Club office just couldnt continue with such a huge fanbase. Another one of my highlights was attending the premiere to "Give My Regards to Broad Street" at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square. Walking up the red carpet with the crowds behind barriers & the cameras all flashing away was truly amazing. All the stars were there, Paul, Linda & Ringo as well as numerous other stars from the entertainment world including John Entwistle & Pauls cousin Kate Robbins both of who I met in the bar afterwards. I'll dig out all my Fun Club items and start showing it all over the next few weeks, its all in many, many boxes in one of my spare rooms at the moment so please bear with me. I've attended practically all of Pauls London concerts except for a couple of VIP only shows. As well as the official concerts & premieres I also got a ticket for the "Chaos & Creation in the Backyard" event at HMV Oxford Street on 15 Sept 2005. My avatar is a pic of me in 1979 at Lympne Castle near where I live, where Wings recorded Back to the Egg the previous summer.
WOW! I am jealous........ BUT how did you get an invite to Broadstreet premiere and Docklands rehearsal?........just curious

Here are images of Wings Fun Club booklets that I am aware of. Does anyone know many more were printed?
You seem to have all the Printed brochures except for the "Lyric Book" which was dated August 1976, it had the same cover as the March 1976 (Speed of Sound) but was not glossy & had the words "Wings Fun Club Lyric Book" under the logo. Previous to the printed "books" I have 5 additional typed Newsletters. The first one, Feb 1973, from Nicky in Kingswinford, Staffs then the rest from Claire in Soho Square. The last one, August 1973, had a farewell note from Claire & was signed from Nicky. I seemed to have mislaid my August 1976 Nashville cover Newsletter if anyone has a spare copy. Smile away, Andy

That's how i got my tickets too although i wasn't always lucky.....i missed out on the 'With A little Luck' video shoot although made up for it four years later with the 'Take It Away' shoot. I think those fans living in London or relatively close to London were slightly favoured.

Did you (or Andy) purchase any of the 8x10's that were offered through the Fun Club throughout the years? There were some incredible Wings photos for sale through the FC. This one of Jimmy I especially love.

In all the (24) years I was a member I don't recall buying anything from the club offer sheets. Nearly all the badges ,postcards and (smaller) photos I have were 'freebies' sent out from time to time. Of course had I known how collectible all this material would be three decades on, I would have been buying up everything I could lay my hands on.

Did buy a nice Flaming Pie wallet from the club

The calendars!
Were the calendars, Linda's calendars? I have a couple of hers, I'd like to get some others. There is one photo of hers, a fence next to a tree with a dew covered spiderweb. Does anyone know if this was ever for sale, or the name of it, so I could put it in my search on Ebay wish list
