Here's a link to the story in the New York Times about Paul's forthcoming collaboration with the City Ballet: http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/23/paul-mccartney-collaborates-with-city-ballet I'm sure some of you won't be excited but my daughter has been taking ballet for 8 years now so I think this sounds VERY cool. I hope I can take her to see it in the fall. Mod Edit Now this news has been officially confirmed we shall make this topic the dedicated thread to discuss this upcoming event. We'll keep the topic going through the premiere and reviews so please post to this thread as things unfold. Duplicate topics will be merged here. Thank you

My whole family would love it !! Two daughters who have been dancing since they were 5 and now they are in college. Youngest daughter is dance major at FSU.

        Maybe I'm amazed !!

This is an impressive classical "high brow" project, but I'd be much more excited and delighted by an announcement of a new original cd coming out of new Paul pop and rock, etc., songs, would you? Not to take away from this ballet project, though It's the first thought which occurred to me upon reading this announcement.

The BBC has it covered as well now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12565979 Reading between the lines, with a Premiere date fixed and Paul talking in some depth about the works theme it looks like this is all written and in rehearsal already. Maybe a few tweaks here and there... Martin

Well, you could've known this was coming first. It's been announced for a while now. Last year they already mentioned Sept 2011 for a premiere date. And finally they stick to a date!

Apparantely this isn't Paul's first forey into ballet. He and John wrote one together in '64 titles Mods and Rockers. Here is my source: http://brokentrails.blogspot.com/2010/11/mods-rockers-by-gareth-brown.html anyone know anything more about this? Is it up on youtube for instance?

methinks it's lost to the annals of time probably locked in Paul's legendary storage bin of Beatles stuff.

Great!. I guess Paul will go for doing something as good as the best Tchaikovsky ballet music.

I don't know, I only remember Paul talking about being a mod, I think. I just know I want to see the ballet. Hope it does not require a trip to NY. Are you referencing the HP Cloud because you hope the ballet goes on it and we can watch on line? That would be cool.

From Hollywood Bowl 1964 & 1966 to  NYC  Madison Square Garden 2017, 15 concerts so far.

Just an FYI, if you feel that way, why are you only stating it now? I bought the best seats I've ever had to a Paul McCartney show through an Amex card holder deal back in 1990 (Worcester, MA in Feb of that year)
