Bill813:
Don?t look me at me It?s way too soon to see what?s gonna be Don?t look at me All my life I never knew what I could be what I could do Then we were new You came along and made my life a song One lucky day You came along Just in time When I was searching for a rhyme You came along Then we were new We can do what we want We can live as we choose You see there?s no guarantee We?ve got nothing to lose Don?t look at me I can?t deny the truth Just wait to see Don?t look at me All my life I never knew what I could be what I could do Then we were new We can do what we want We can live as we choose You see there?s no guarantee We?ve got nothing to lose Don?t look me at me It?s way too soon to see what?s gonna be Don?t look at me All my life I never knew what I could be what I could do Then we were new Then we were new Now we are new
I was looking for the lyrics, thanks Bill813 for posting them

That's an interesting viewpoint, Boycie!...he better fix that!
The most important thing is Paul putting out great music, but it would be nice if he had a commercial rebirth too.

I just got the email. I can't hear the song though, as I'm at work and those sites are blocked. It says it "hints at things to come" from the new album, but doesn't actually say it's from the new album or not. So, is it?

The new song is called "New," and the album has the same title. So, yes, it's from the upcoming album!

oobu24, I'm listening to the song and watching your moving picture of Paul doing the wavy hands for the girls singing their 'Nah, nah, nahs' and his motions fit right in with the rhythm of this song. Watch it and listen...too funny!

OOPS1 I started a "new" thread on this before seeing everyone is discussing it on here....perhaps the Mods can merge my "new" thread into this one. I think this is Macca at his pop/beatlesque best. I know others will disagree but this is the best thing he has released in since MAF.
Haha... This is the only thing he has released since MAF
Electric Arguments and Kisses on the Bottom?
Those were Firemen and Standards... I'm talking about a Paul credited Rock album
THIS is not rock. Very POP.

I just missed reading about the radio interview.....anyone want to tell us basically what he said?
He said that he'd accumulated a bunch of songs, and then he described the process of him working with each producer, basically auditioning them, individually, to see who would end up producing the album. But he said he liked all of them. And I hate to be a "Debbie Downer," but this is the part I didn't like: I'm a little bummed because he sounds like he's completely accepting that he's an oldies act now. He said (paraphrasing): "I'm on stage, basically reviewing this young man's work -- this 24-year-old's work...and I think: 'This guy wasn't bad.'" And, to keep himself challenged, to keep from getting bored, he likes to "challenge" himself...and that's why he added "Benefit Of Mr. Kite."
IMO - McCartney made himself oldies act by playing Beatle heavy set list and when crowd was not as enthusiastic when new songs were played, he did less of them. I agree it is sad that challenging himself is doing old Beatle song, makes me wonder why he bothers with new music.

There is a pre-order link on ebay for the Japan Deluxe addition which claims to have 4 bonus tracks. Could be possible since it appears they will get the first listen to the new songs. But on the cautious side, they add..."this can be changed at any time". It would make sense though.....since there are a decent number of tracks not accounted for

My gosh! How many versions of this CD are there going to be?? Whatever happened to just releasing an album and just buying it??

Due out Oct. 14th. 14 songs. Entitled "New". New single out on iTunes UK! Also called "New"
So since I don't use iTunes I can't buy the single?
-
Why not just release the CD with 14 songs to the whole world????

I agree it's all bullshit these differing releases.

I would not pre-order ANYTHING until it is all out there on the main site. I may not pre-order anything at all, unless there is a perk to it. You never know what they may come up with before the release.

Yeah, I would wait for the dust to settle on all this.
