Regarding 'Press' , I've always enjoyed this recording, even the production which is very much of that period (in fact VERY 1986 specifically). Great musical arrangement, backing vocals etc. Some of the lyrics don't make obvious sense, but then it's the way Paul writes sometimes and they probably come from personal experiences etc. 'Oklahoma was never like this' (??) Someone on Youtube suggested 'Press' could be describing a specific sexual act?

Not one of His best, but one of my favourite ones, probably because it is from about that time when I got hooked on McCartney/Beatles, so I have a sentiment for the song and the video, I don't really mind the typical sound of the 1980's production on this one

The video is cute and I like the song (I don't love it though)

Good song..I love that Paul wasn't trying to be The Beatles back then and was just making music that fitted with the times. Now everything is like a white album outake.

I think it's a fine song, even though "press" as a secret code is just a little too cute. Despite the 1986 production, it's well done and keeps the song moving. I've also got the limited first pressing of the album, where this song's mix is more straightforward?you could say it's better, but it also doesn't sound so much like a single.

Love the song. Although I am partial to the whole Press to Play album. I am still surprised it didn't make it to the top 10 in the US. I remember seeing the video more than a few times on MTV, back when MTV was actually good.

That's a really good point about the original album mix not being as commercial. I MUCH prefer what (I think) was known as the 'video mix'.

Press... right there... yes I made some some signs for a friend to hold up at a soundcheck that said that!

It's good. Very well recorded. It sounded like its contemporaries.

I think its a great song. I really like the album actually, and think it's really underated - none more so than "Stranglehold" which I think is both a great song and recording. It would be cool to hear a new version of the song press with just guitars and drums actually.

Horrible song which is only marginally less irritating that Spies Like Us from the same period. Like the video though.

Below average single by Paul's standards. The production was heavy-sounding even for 1986. Hardly any melody or chorus, and silly lyrics. Its too bad Paul didnt team up with Elvis a few years earlier. I wonder how higher My Brave Face would have charted in 1986.

I kinda like the song, despite the very '80s feel. But it and Footprints are the only tunes off the album that do much for me -- except for the stripped-down live version of "Only Love Remains" that's been posted here before.
