The three price levels: £71.50 £88.50 £135
When I was at Liverpool uni in 1973 I saw Led Zep play the Empire for £1. I did mindless office work that summer for £20 a week. The equivalent these days would be about £200 pw. The equivalent ticket price should be £10. So concert inflation is running 5-10x that of everyday inflation. My son is now at Liverpool Uni. I'll take him to see Paul at the Arena - the first time he'll have seen a Beatle play. But I'll have to pay for him - there's no way he could afford £70+ as a student. The irony of youngsters not paying for their music is that it's forced artists to turn their gigs from being promotional tours for the albums into their principle source of income - and hence the youngsters are priced out of them.

McCartney on the UK shows: ?It?s always great when you get to play in your home country. It?s been a little while since I?ve performed here so we?re planning a few surprises and looking forward to playing some songs we?ve never played here. We?ve taken this tour all over the world but there?s nothing quite like rocking out with your home audience. We?ll see you soon.?

Anyone doing soundcheck? How much is it there?
-
Does anyone know if there's a delivery charge for tickets too or can they be printed at home? If there is a charge, approx. how much would it be? Thanks in advance!

No prices are posted yet. Interesting that the soundcheck packages do NOT include a reception: Due to the timings of the soundcheck, please note this Experience does not include hospitality. There is a separate hospitality package that does not include soundcheck.

It was about £750 the one time we did it, which was in 2011. Seats were front row but stuck in the side block of the floor. Since then eventravel started saying it was the side block in their blurb when selling so they can't be accused of lying... as the people even further in the corner than we were complained after the show. But i notice on the site for these gigs its back to not saying! Same as it doesn't say "rows 3 to 6" for the hot sound, it just says "premium ticket". We're totally skint, but my sister said to check out the vip in case it's the only way we can get a seat not at the back! But realistically we can't do it again... esp as they're being vague about where the seats are this time. For £600 to £750 i'd like to know before i pay!!

Hospitality with no soundcheck? I wish they would offer soundcheck alone.

You mean just by itself, with no merch or seat?

Plenty of rooms available in Liverpool...PLENTY!!!!!
I'm curious: how can you be sure of that?
Because I have been there multiple times and times when McCartney is playing with MORE going on. What sorr of a question is this?

Look, it's time for you to calm down and control your negativity. Sorry there are no concerts in Australia, but it's not my fault. You said there are plenty of rooms available (which I doubt), so I simply asked what is the source of your opinion. However, both of your rather rude and agressive replies are suggesting that the city will be quite busy and rooms will in fact be hard to find, so you're actually agreeing with me and I'll consider my question answered. Thanks!

Good grief.

Mate...there are rooms...

Please can everyone clam down and not let thing spoil an already stressful time! In reply to 5th Beatle - i know you're worried, i'm a worrier myself so i get that - but please be sure that Liverpool is a huge city, and has an absolute ton of rooms. There will be around 10,000 people coming for the Paul gig, probably only around half will need to stay over the rest will travel back afterwards (like me). 5000 people is not enough to book up all hotel rooms, i promise. Especially 3 months before the event. They'll be busy close to the venue yes, but not unavailable.. Liverpool welcomes 40,000 people every weekend for example, and there's always hotels around. So don't let people wind you up - but please don't stress, there will be rooms
