This might need to be moved to a different forum How about using this to arrange a board meet up before the gig or for idea on where to stay what to do. Where to eat, getting to Liverpool etc thread. Great pubs and so on
You should organise it, Nowords xxx
ok
Keep in mind a lot of us are doing soundcheck and have to be at the venue pretty early.
that's no problem some will meet the day before some the day after some before the gig some later. I'm getting in touch with the cavern to see if they are having an after show party I'm hoping to get to Liverpool to enjoy a full day drinking and dancing before the gig and sound check etc etc

With any luck, the Mersey Beatles will be playing the Cavern that night - they are awesome - so no need for an 'after show party' - this will be the best way to end the day
-
The Mersey Beatles tend to do Thursday nights at the Cavern and are the last act on that night so you should get at least an hour of entertainment in after Paul's show. That said, they may end up with tickets to see the show themselves so who knows...

My recommendation is to book a hotel ASAP Hotels have gone up in price, in Liverpool, on the 28th of May quite steadily since the show was announced. Jury's at Albert Dock (right across from the Echo Arena) has gone from ?150ish to ?349 at the minute... xxxxx

It might be cheaper the stay in manchester and travel up for the gig or maybe over the water a brand new premier in have opened in Birkenhead so ferry across the Mersey
-
Maybe he'll do "Early Days" in Liverpool? It would be fitting.

But then he'd miss the whole experience of Liverpool..and it's his 1st time to Liverpool, so he needs to stay in Liverpool to really appreciate it xxxxx

true but they could include a visit to old Trafford and also the tour of the Manchester music scene which is now available if they are hiking the prices up that much it's a crime. You can normally get a room in that jurys for £69 on a thursdsy if nothing is on at the arena and when a band is on £100. Liverpool in general does have so many hotels all within walking distance if needed with prices for all pockets.

If he wants to see any football stadium, it should be Anfield hahaha although, this is going slightly off topic now There are plenty of hotels still available but you should book soon before the price goes right up, mate xxxxx

I would really like to hear Early Days! I thought the perfect place to play it would have been in SF. But, you make a good point what better place than Liverpool! I hope you are right!

He usually does a song in Liverpool connected to his past (Honey Hush, Maggie Mae, Hippy Hippy Shake, Penny Lane, In Liverpool, Strawberry Fields/Help!/Give Peace A Chance), so it would be a unique opportunity to do "Early Days" live for the first time.
Hamish Stuart:
Just saw that the Beach Boys (sadly without Brian Wilson) are doing a show at Manchester Apollo (about an hour ride from Liddypool) on May 27.
I did a search and it seems that both the Beach Boys and the Foo Fighters will be playing in Manchester (at different venues) on May 27. If I decide to go see one of them, will I be able to make it back to Liverpool afterwards? I don't know how late trains usually run. By the way, since Dave Grohl will be that close to Liverpool just the night before Paul's concert, he will probably be in the audience at the Echo Arena... maybe he'll be a special guest again, just like in 2008?

The Foos gig at Old Trafford has been completely sold out for sometime now, so I wouldn't bother trying to get a ticket.

If you're coming down by train (like my wife and I are) then I'd advise you to book quite soon as there's limited availability around 28th May. It's pretty cheap for the train too - roughly £15 each way per person from Glasgow Central with a change at Preston or Wigan If you're driving, there's a multi-story car park right beside the Arena which is open 24 hours. I've parked there before when I last saw Paul at the Echo Arena in 2011.
