Paul's comforting songs

Seeing a thread about Let it Be got me thinking: there are these kind of songs Paul's been doing for a long time, comforting, hopeful, soothing... such as this one. What songs would you put in this, category, so to speak, and which are your favourite ones (and why)? What was the first of such songs?. Any relation to his personal life and writing (maybe more) of songs with this kind of theme iyo? It's late and I gotta go to sleep hehe, but off the top of my head: Let It Be Souvenir Too Much Rain Hey Jude ... many more I'm sure!

Interesting to see Wanderlust listed as a comforting song. It's always struck me as pretty damn bleak to me -- he's been dumped by his love and is heading off in search of lord knows what. And Riding to Vanity Fair? That may be the only set of lyrics Paul's ever written to which you could accurately apply the word "bitter." It may be the least comforting song Paul's ever written. One obvious choice that hasn't been mentioned yet: Blackbird.

"Friends to Go" strikes me as bitter, also. It's from H.M. times (bad times, in the end). Was wondering recently about the one at the end of "New" (well, second to last), wondering if the at times harrowing dark night of fear he alludes to in that song also springs from the bad H.M. period. If he was still in a big downer caused by her (for lack of a better word) when he wrote that one, I think it's called "Road." I'd never heard such from him before. Very different from most all his other songs. It does proffer a bit of comfort near its conclusion, that he thinks "it will be alright."

Perhaps people are choosing songs they really enjoy, therefor find soothing...it's not always the lyrics, sometimes a harmony or something clever Paul did musically. I don't know if everyone gets pictures/colors from songs, but that could be another reason. Some songs are more soothing that way.
I find Paul's music more soothing than any other artist, always have. Really like Road Susy, when I first heard that in a Volkswagen, at the Beetle Drive in event, that song was just WOW

I find Paul's music more soothing than any other artist, always have. Because his songs have a very strong melody I don't think many qualify as soothing. I can never listen to his albums as background music unless it's the firemen albums.

Someone asked if there were any comforting Paul songs before "Blackbird", and "I'll Follow the Sun" was the first one I thought of. "There's a Place" might be their first comforting song.

I'd consider that to be Paul's first song with this kind of theme. A couple people mentioned I'll Follo the Sun, but I don't see how it'd be a comforting song? lyric-wise of course. Such beautiful harmonies with John in that song. It's one of my favourites... and to think he wrote it being so young. There's a place could be, but it's not really Paul's. -
Blue Sway is very soothing, like an ocean wave.
A Leaf is also very soothing Both of these songs are so beautiful
