Cool, Paul speaks the language of Tomania! He sounds like Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator around 5:28! http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=Tw2kfO0-FC0&feature=related

When Paul was young, he LOVED Buddy Holly. But it seems he did not remember the lyrics of Buddy Holly's classic Peggy Sue:

I had to share this! A really good tv performance of "Hope Of Deliverance" from '93. Paul sounds great!!! The music track sounds like a strong remix of the album version, but Paul's definitely singing live.
-
that's one of my favorite Paul songs. I also love the video of it in the magic circle. I've been to many magic circles in the middle of the night but none of them were like that.....plus I fantasize about walking in the woods at night with Paul. Too few men want to walk in the woods at night and are able to.

"Hope of Deliverance" always brings me an emotional twinge. It came out just as someone I was very, very close to was dying of liver cancer. "We live in hope of deliverance from the darkness that surrounds us" pretty much summed up my life right about that time.

You can thank my little Off The Ground phase I'm in today Btw, the guy(s) who uploaded the video said they weren't sure where this performance came from (they guessed early-mid 90's) and to be honest I'm not completely sure myself...but I do know that at some point not too long after Linda died (maybe in the 1999-2001 time frame???) Paul did partake in a gig with Elvis Costello and I'm guessing it's from that (although without actually knowing the setlist from that night, I'm not completely sure)

Didn't Paul do some small classical'ish concerts with Elvis Costello, backed by the Bronsky Quartet in 1995? I remember a version of "For No One" tha came from those shows.
-
Does anyone know if the woman in Paul's 48 Hours special from 1989 ever got to meet Paul? (She's featured throughout the episode and at around 4:25 in this clip)
Her name is Joy. Is she on the boards? I know she got to see him and he saw her/waved at her while driving by, but I'd just love to know if she ever got her picture and hug like she wanted. -

I haven't seen it in over 20 years but I still remember it vividly. In 1988 a Beatles Convention came to my town and I read a review of it where she was one of the speakers. I think she said she did get to meet McCartney. he contacted her after the show aired. Now, if only one of those types of shows could pick me and I could touch Paul's heart enough just to get a hello and handshake...(I won't expect a hug but it'd be nice).

She seemed so right for Paul. I'm really happy that Linda was always there for Paul even in the most difficult times.

that show is probably what made me fall in love with Linda. It was my first seeing her on film outside of the music videos in the 80s and nasty comments in magazines. I saw 48 hours and thought to myself, "She's kind of cool...." I got made fun of for saying it to my friends...all older males.
