@LP_Quagmire Although I don't agree with you concerning "McCartney II" (I adore this album), I do agree with you on the "press to play" issue. I also think that we need a deluxe version of that album. A couple of months ago, we compiled our own "press to play deluxe version" on this forum. what do you think? 1986 press to play cd 1: 1. "Stranglehold" ? 3:36 2. "Good Times Coming/Feel the Sun" (Paul McCartney) ? 4:55 3. "Talk More Talk" (Paul McCartney) ? 5:18 4. "Footprints" ? 4:32 5. "Only Love Remains" (Paul McCartney) ? 4:13 6. "Press" (Paul McCartney) ? 4:43 7. "Pretty Little Head" ? 5:14 8. "Move Over Busker" ? 4:05 9. "Angry" ? 3:36 10. "However Absurd" ? 4:56 11. "Write Away" ? 3:00 12. "It's Not True" (Paul McCartney) ? 5:53 13. "Tough On A Tightrope" ? 4:42 cd 2: 1. "Only Love Remains" (remix) 2. "Tough on a Tightrope" (remix by Julian Mendelssohn) 3. "Talk More Talk" (remix by McCartney and Jon Jacobs) 4. "Hanglide" 5. "Press" (dub mix) 6. "Pretty Little Head" (remix by John Potoker) 7. It?s not true (7? mix) 8. "Angry" (remix by Larry Alexander) 9. ?I Love This House? 10. ?Don?t Break the Promises? 11. ?Twice in a Lifetime? 12. ?Spies Like Us" 13. "Spies Like Us" (party remix by John Potoker) 14. "Spies Like Us" (remix by Art of Noise) 15. "Spies Like Us" (DJ version) dvd: 1. spies like us 2. press 3. only love remains 4. stranglehold 5. pretty little head 6. only love remains ? live on ?the tube? 7. the paul mccartney special (tv special, 1986) 8. let it be - paul mccartney at live aid 9. the prince?s trust party (3 songs: ?get back?, ?long tall sally?, ?I saw her standing there?)

who says that Press to Play won't get the same treatment? I'm sure it will.. It just makes sense to re-release McCartney and McCartney II at the same time.. Furthermore, McCartney II was originally meant to be a double album, so there's a lot of unreleased songs from that project just floating around YouTube that would be nice to have on a CD..

Glad you appreciate this album, too. My deluxe version of PRESS TO PLAY consists of the original album with bonus tracks from the sessions plus, most intriguingly, a second disc that reconstructs the original running order of the album using alternate takes.

All of Macca's albums are being remastered, but I can't see every single album getting the deluxe treatment with $100 price tags; they didn't do that with The Beatles reissues, so I can't see them going "all-out" with the "lesser" albums in Macca's catalogue.
-
They have to include the extra long version "Good Times Coming/Feel The Sun" on the reissue! I also hope they would include the rough mixes of the album because they sound much better than the finished album, in my opinion, which is a bit too 'overproduced'. I'm looking forward to McCartney II, if that's really what we're getting. It's one of my favourite albums.

It will be interesting to see how many of Paul's solo albums get the "deluxe" treatment accorded BAND ON THE RUN.

I don't know if it's true, but musitap reports a release date for mccartney & mccartney II: june 7: http://www.facebook.com/pages/MusicTAP/104853386213733 it's kind of sad that we'll have to wait THAT long, but at least we've got a date!

Well, I'm glad to see a date...but annoyed at how far away it is!!! Also, I hope the CD special editions are like the Books they had for Band on The Run. I dont want to end up buying CD/DVD, and CD special edition, AND 2LP!! But, hopefully we'll get some dates going for Paulie in June!!
-
Far away? it's only three months! We had to wait longer for BOTR.

"McCartney" has a degree of historic significance to justify a deluxe treatment, but a hundred dollars for a special edition of "McCartney II" seems unwarranted.

Wouldn't it be crazy if he goes and drops a McCartney III on us the same day Life would be good. However as I've professed many a time, couldn't care any less about remasters, and I won't be buying these. unless Paul ties in a McCartney III

Now THAT would be something!!!

I hoped Venus and Mars would be next. I don't think very much of McCartney II.

I was hoping for that, or Ram. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they pull together for it. And what Paul pulls out in the live show
-
Well we were suppose to be seeing 6 albums 'coming soon' when BOTR was released. Its a very laboured process. It would be good if they atleast had a schedule for these 6. Im not going to be buying them all but I was looking forward to V&M/WOA/Ram.

Yeah, altho. I think they will gradually begin releasing them in chunks. BOTR probably got solo spot cuz its his most poopular solo release. But like tying McCartney/ II together, was kinda obvious, I'd imagine they'll do them in groupings of three from now on, porbably chronologically as well.
