I wonder, if after JT's set Macca will come back out for a finale. Let it Be or Hey Jude?

Kudos to McCartney for playing three new tunes tonight before the new CD is even released! I hope he does at least the same on Monday night!
Freaking fantastic. Have not listened yet but will do so later today. How well were the the "New" songs received by the audience is key IMO.

Well, I think we can say without fear of contradiction that Paul kicked a** tonight. The new songs sounded great. I think it's a safe bet that one of the other new songs he played tonight will be the followup single when the time comes. I think my money is on "Save Us," but I might be wrong. I do wish all Paul's shows had this balance between Beatles, Wings, and solo/new material.
I totally agree with you!!!

Magical Mystery Tour (bass) - bass work was awesome on this one Save Us (Bass) - really liked this one. Balls out rocker, nice vocals Let Me Roll It/Foxy Lade (Guitar) Everybody Out There (12 string) - liked Save us better but this is good as well. Really interested to hear the studio version of this. Some neat musical things in it. Another day (12 string) New (electric piano) - excellent version -hate that they left off the coda though - my fav part of the song. Excellent harmonies Lady Madonna (electric piano) Live and Let Die (grand piano) - fantastic pyro - really well shot. Could really sense the pyro and lasers. Excellent short set with 3 new songs. The mix on this was really good for taped shows - often times they have the vocal too high and the bass too low in the mix. Not tonight. Very strong performance. A touch of strain here and there, but overall really well sung and played. RamblinRed
Most EXCELLENT set!!!

And for those who ask for more "solo" material...tonight was 75% solo, 25% Beatles.
Actually, it was 25% Beatles, 25% Wings and 50% solo -- which suits me just fine.
oh yeah!

"Save Us" has Back To The Egg written all over it. I'm liking it!
I think it sounds like the Fireman!

Here is the complete video:
Audio is not great, but at least it's in synch with the image, unlike the official version from the iHeart channel. -
I would love if their REAL rehearsals (of the new songs) leaked out. Now THAT, I would love to see & hear!
-
Full HD rip is 'out there'.
-
Is it me, or was the arrangement of MMT much more "power pop" than normal -- almost more Wings-ish in style than the more whimsical 60s original?
-
Missed Paul last night but got all of it on youtube this morning. LOVING the new songs! I think this is going to be one AWESOME album and so happy to hear some of the new material before the release date. Paul looked great, he and the band sounded great and we get to see him on Kimmel tomorrow night. Wonder if he'll preview another song? What a great couple of days for Macca fans!

The Hollywood Reporter reviews day 2 of the festival. Highlights: a trio of artists in different genres -- headliner Justin Timberlake, penultimate performer Drake and the aforementioned McCartney -- all took risks with their Saturday sets, and succeeded all the more for it. and ... McCartney came onstage hours before Drake and Timberlake, and treated his early performance as a testing ground for new material. The upcoming New full-length got three songs plopped into the eight-song set list, and while McCartney understandably wanted to promote his first new album in six years at a high-profile event, the emphasis on fresh songs was heavier, and ultimately more successful, than expected. Macca's inclusion of "Magical Mystery Tour," "Lady Madonna" and "Live and Let Die" kept the folks in the bleacher seats pleased, but new cuts like "Everybody Out There" and "Save Us" were far from obligatory. Who knows -- maybe Macca's inventive set will prevent him for being scheduled to open for Zedd next year. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/iheartradio-fest-justin-timberlake-takes-633988
