I was just curious if anyone knew the type of equipment / setup that Wix uses. What type of keyboards, synthesizers, and any other instrumentation? -Rubber Soul13

I'm just a record listener, concertgoer, not much of a technician. I think Wix has brought some nice sounds to McCartney's music, if I'd be critical which is not really a critique of him, but I sometimes wished McCartney used a real horn section on stage more often instead of Wix playing keyboard horns.

Oh yeah !! The WOA tour with live horn section was so much better, no offense intended.

          Maybe I'm amazed !!

Having seen the last Wings tour in the UK back in '79 where they had the horns, i'd say bringing back the horn section would add another dimension to the show. The Who back in 2013 had a horn section while touring Quadrophenia so why can't Paul do it?

Yes, the lava lamp! A nice tribute. And a horn section would be a nice add on these days (although Wix surely manages to pull everything together himself and do so much more). -Rubber Soul13

Wix on the 2002/2003 tour (Driving USA, Back In The US, Driving Japan, Back In The World) used: - Kurzweil PC2X keyboard controller; - Yamaha Motif 7 keyboard; - Studiologic SLMP113 MIDI pedalboard; - Opcode Studio 5 MIDI interface; - Roland JV5080 synth module; - Akay S5000 sampler; - Yamaha VL70m Physical Modelling synthesizer; - Novation Nova synthesizer; - E -mu Custom Proteus synth module; - Yamaha 01V digital mixer; - Macintosh PowerBook G4 titanium for the sistem's programming and softsynth; - Hohner Student V customized accordion; - Allodi customized accordion; - Gibson "Emmylou Harris" acoustic guitar. It was a quite complex setup, I supposed it have been slightly updated in the last 12 years. He needs to recreate in a professional way a large amount of sounds, which are essential in songs that come from different ages (Beatles, Wings, Paul's solo works). The live horn section surely impacts in a concert, yet the horns are just a component (still effective) in a very miscellaneous tracklist. Having said that, the horn section it would be a desirable inclusion!

Had been fun to see/hear McCartney with a horn section again, if not permanently then at least for a tour or something.
