    • RE: Got Back - PaulMcCartney.com Pre-Sale

For anyone who isn't happy with the tickets that they purchased or mistakenly purchased tickets they didn't want: when I bought my tickets, I noticed that there was something called a "Free Looking Period" before I entered my payment details. There was a statement that said that tickets could be refunded within 10 days if they were not to the customer's liking.

Doing an online search for "Ticketmaster free looking period" yields hardly any results (and the one result looks like it's a contract that is more detailed than Ticketmaster let it on to be). Maybe try researching the free looking period to see what you find?

EDIT: My tickets were official platinum. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Was just looking at Ringo's tour schedule...on June 15 (day before Paul's June 16 MetLife concert) he is in Baltimore.

He is "off" on the 16th!

...and playing in Massachusettes on June 17 (basically passing through New Jersey).

Maybe an encore performance at MetLife similar to Dodgers Stadium in 2019??    Any thoughts??

I saw similar speculation from another board member. Fingers crossed!

Glad you were able to get something. I was so bummed because I wasn't even able to log on, and a friend could log on but couldn't purchase anything.

May I ask you, what row you get for the Hot Sound?

Of all my Macca shows, MetLife stadium has been the most difficult to get tickets for (in both 2016 and 2022) despite it being the largest venue. Not sure why that is. Maybe because it's been the only area show in both years for NY, NJ, CT, PA, etc. What row/price level were you looking for?

So great to have purchased two Hot Sound packages for my son James and me to close out Paul's "Got Back" Tour on June 16 at MetLife Stadium!!

      We can't wait!

That's awesome - enjoy! I'll be at MetLife too, but way up in the 300s.

    • RE: Paul on Stephen Colbert Monday

Nice long interview with Paul tonight - it's worth a watch.

Also, did anyone notice Stephen's house band playing Getting Closer and Hot As Sun before/after the commercial breaks?

McCartney sang it. There are many examples of McCartney singing these notes in this style in his recording catalogue, and no examples of Lennon singing these notes in this style.

Apart from this, there is also technical evidence. It's proven to be one take, no audible edit, and you can hear McCartney smoothly finishing his last note to do a breath inhale after his first bit. Same vocalist at the same mic.

Have you read the rest of this thread? Agree to disagree.

I did. It's a decade old discussion to which I contributed extensively at various places, haha.

Geoff Emerick indeed can be dismissed instantly. It's true he had to rely on ghostwriters to fill in the gaps for his book, so not a single detail can be relied on. Already in interviews from the 70's he often answered "I can't remember" when asked about certain sessions. And then 30 years later he suddenly remembers all in detail...

Besides this it's clear: his whole recollection of this session is technically impossible and easily proven wrong by listening to the multi-tracks.

For example, it's proven that there is no edit in the vocal take until Lennon's original verse vocal comes back in again. With the vocal takes naturally going smoothly into each other ("and I went into a dream", same vocalist doing a breath inhale, and that vocalist then going into the next bit) it's impossible that this was done by two different vocalists. Emerick's ghostwriter made up some story about having to do a hard edit on the spot for two different takes. Impossible at the time, and the multi-tracks prove that's not what happened.

I can only narrow down my favorite Paul era and that is after he shaved his mustache in April 1967 until Sept. 1968. *THUD*

I actually liked John best from the summer of 1966 all the way through Pepper up until the end of fall1967.

Good to hear from you, Nancy. Why did you like John best during 66-67? For his songs during that time?

I’m talking purely physically for both Paul and John. As far as The Beatles musically, as I said before, my favorite era was 1960-1970! 😂
