Worst line from a McCartney song
-
Although I really like his music; he's not the greatest songwriter.
-
In a certain mood, "sad songs" provide catharsis and an almost enjoyable melancholy, and "misery loves company" but O how I love the joy in Paul's happy songs, which comprise much of his songbook, makes a dreary day turn sunny (but I often appreciate rainy weather).

Wow. If he's not, he's pretty effin' handy at it.

Yeah, and Paul had absolutely nothing to do with writing Give Peace A Chance! (even though John gave him writing credit on it)

Moreover that one line has become iconic. Good enough, and powerful enough for millions singing it at anti-war rallies around the world and it was sung by crowds of distraught fans outside the Dakota on that horrible night. Nowhere near being a bad line of a song: quite the opposite. John at his direct and succinct best. If ever a line from a song truly resonated with people, it was "all we are saying is give peace a chance."

Sometimes ya just have to say it: ya know what? That's a really ill considered, ignorant or just dumb comment. And I'm actually a bit offended by the premise. Maybe the dude is young, or still getting up to speed on the whole Beatles thing.

Thought I had better check to see if someone else had already written this one and sure enough... Even a musical genius needs an editor.

Paul didn't write those lines, John did. Come one, man! Get with it!

Surely, the song was written when they were young and all of this didn't matter!
And they were probably in the backseat of a comfy car. Yes, to be that young again. lol.
Please Please Me would be instantly identified for what the song is really about if it were released today!
OMG!!! I feel so dirty now!!!
What?..... (Sound of needle scratching across the vinyl)....My young self joyfully singing this song and so innocent. Please don't hack my memories
